Looks like Comer was the #52 PG in 2011 on ESPN, and he looks to be their most highly regarded recruit they ever signed. In reality these guys probably aren't one of the top 40-50 teams in the country, but they've looked downright dominant in the last couple games. It's amazing that this team lost to Lipscomb twice.

They're just a blast to watch. They're amazingly athletic for such an unheralded team. I would really like to see them scheduled on UNC's schedule next year in Chapel Hill.

Looks like Miami's version of Davonte Gardner, the 6'10" and (generous) 290 lb Reggie Johnson, is out for the Sweet 16 game having undergone a minor surgical procedure. Glad he's out, but I was kind of looking forward to the announcers gushing over Gardner versus Johnson banging it out in the paint. Marquette was really going to have their hands full with three guys 6'10" or taller in Miami's rotation, plus three guards 6'5" or taller. Lockett, Blue, and Anderson are going to have to play lock-down defense on Scott, Jones, and Brown.

Thursday and Friday I like Louisville, Michigan State, Wichita State, Arizona, Michigan, Florida, Syracuse, and Miami. And I will take a Michigan State, Arizona, Florida, and Miami Final 4. I really want to pick Wichita State to beat Arizona but can't bring myself to do it.

Marquette is really lucky to still be playing; I just have a hard time seeing them beating Miami. Not that they can't but I certainly wouldn't put money on them if I were a betting man.

I really feel bad...I had Wichita State winning two games, and I really liked them as a team. I just thought Wisconsin had the easiest path to the Elite 8 in the entire tourney. I was in Vegas last week and found that I was one of the few making money on Wichita St. Apparently not many realized they had been highly ranked this year before losing three straight games in early Feb. I'm no Wisconsin fan, but it was a shock to see them go out so early.

Marquette with a great win today in likely their best game of the year. This has been a fun team to watch all year. I thought they'd be as good as last year, but it's because I thought Mayo and Blue would team up to lead the squad. I had no idea Otule would become serviceable, Jamil Wilson would make shots, or Steve Taylor would look this strong. Lockett played his best game at Marquette as well, so that helps.

Amazingly I'm only missing one team from the Elite 8 in my pools--Wisconsin. I should have gone with my gut and Wichita St. If Mich St, Louisville, Fla and Kansas advance, I'll be in good shape.

Tom Crean is just an awful game coach. I bet all they do at Indiana's practices is scrimmage.

Go Wichita St baby; I want them to beat up the Craft's so bad.

I won't be suprised at all if both Michigan St and Michigan pull the upsets tonight. Neither are huge underdogs though.

Marquette played great last night; that had be one of if not the worst performance for Miami all year. They were pathetic and acted like they didn't want to be there.

While Miami played poorly, I think they were very overrated. Talent wise, I thought MU was the better team, so it wasn't shocking to see them win. I'm ecstatic to see them play so well in their transition year and I hope the people who thought I was crazy to suggest that they could be a #1 or #2 seed next year now see what I'm talking about. Not crazy at all. That incoming recruiting class is drool-worthy.

It sounds like Shane Larkin had a nasty virus the night before the game, so perhaps that was part of it.

I had a very skewed picture of Miami this season, as I watched all of their games vs. Carolina and Duke, where they were drilling everything and absolutely dominant. Their only loss in those five games was at Cameron with Ryan Kelly having by far the best night of his career.

I'm not sure how much analysis yesterday's loss for Miami even needs. Marquette looked to have a decent game, and Miami played miserably in the first half. Sometimes shots just don't go down. Those open kick-out threes are usually their bread and butter, but I think they started off something like 1-12 on threes, which were largely decent to good looks.

The way the ACC has looked in the NCAA and NIT tourneys makes me think that entire league isn't very good this year. Miami nearly lost to a very average Illinois team, Virginia lost to Iowa at home, NC State lost to Temple, North Carolina looked awful against Kansas. I am starting to like my Michigan State Final 4 pick more and more. I think they beat Duke but Louisville is awfully tough.

Sagarin has the ACC 4th in his conference strength ratings, which sounds about right. In terms of overall team quality when you look at the ACC, right now you have of the best five programs in the country (not this year -- big picture), but after that I'm not sure any of the others are even in the top 25 programs. Adding Syracuse, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame helps a great deal, but right now the conference just isn't what it used to be.

Well shoot, now that Duke won I have to consider cheering for Ohio State to beat Wichita State. I expect Louisville to knock out Duke, but I don't want to risk them drawing Wichita State in the final four.

I think that Marquette is going to have to hit a decent percentage of the outside shots today to have a chance. That Syracuse defense has looked pretty much impenetrable thus far, and to me, next to Louisville they have been the most impressive team thus far in the tourney. I have to think that the Cuse may be due for a stinker offensively, so it may turn out to be one of those ugly, low scoring Big East battles.

Marquette has the one guy that can help them beat Sarycuse, the question is if they throw him the ball in the right spots: Gardner. He is SUCH a good passer, if they can consistently get him the ball in the high post, they can win. If they can't, I don't think they stand much of a shot.

Fairly off topic... Is it me or is there very little buzz about the game today? A Wisconsin team is playing for the freaking Final Four and even on Jsonline, the stories are pretty much buried. I know that Marquette takes a back seat to the Badgers, but if this was the Badgers, it would be all that you see/hear about.
