Kenny Chesney's 2013 tour includes a stop at Miller Park. Not my cup of musical tea, but it's nice for country fans. The concert is on a Saturday night and the Brewers' next home game is the following Monday night.

Definitely not my thing, but it's nice to see them using Miller Park to hold events other than baseball. Milwaukee needs to start making bids to try and get a future Wrestlemania there.

That would be awesome but I don't think Milwaukee's a big enough market for it. Although, being close to Chicago does help.

The lodging in the Milwaukee area would be woefully inadequate for such a thing also. I'd think with such a high percentage of Wrestlemania attendees coming from outside the area there would have to be more hotel rooms available than we have here. Like Atlanta metro probably has 6 times as many rooms as Milwaukee does.

Safeco had a Wrestlemania. I wouldn't think Safeco could fit that many more people than Miller Park.

Yes, and that was 10 years ago. They won't go back to anything smaller than a football stadium now that they've had so much success doing so in recent years. Including this year, 7 straight WrestleManias have been in football stadiums. Safeco held about 54,000 for WrestleMania 19. The lowest attendance in that last 7 was 71,000 in the Georgia Dome for WrestleMania 27. They had over 92,000 at WrestleMania 26. You know Vince has wet dreams of more of that. Think of how many they could fit in Cowboys Stadium. Probably about 110,000. I don't see them going away from football stadiums in the future. Do much extra revenue would be lost by doing so, which is why WrestleMania 30 won't be at the Garden. The only exception is probably the SkyDome, because it can fit almost 70,000 for WrestleMania.

The Potowatomee are building a 20 floor hotel next to their casino and there is currently a Hilton Garden Inn and another hotel being built downtown. There is also a proposal out there for a hotel as part of that huge development on the lakefront (assuming that ever actually happens) Not sure how much it helps but it seems like Milwaukee is at least addressing the problem.

I agree Miller Park should go for Wrestlmania. I also think they should spend the money it would take to upgrade the stadium to improve the heating so Milwaukee can make a bid for the Final Four. Those two would be absolute coups. Milwaukee needs to stop thinking so small.

I'm not against thinking big, but I can't help but think the timing of the Final Four would not mesh well with the baseball season.

It's nice to see an event at Miller Park but I can't see them having any non-baseball big ticket events. Most big concerts have continued to prefer Alpine Valley which has about the same capacity. Miller Park would be terrible for basketball compared to Indianapolis. The new Vikings stadium is sure to draw big events as well. A Marquette-Wisconsin type game might be interesting at Miller Park or perhaps a Wisconsin hockey game. However, I do not see either of those happening in the next 5 years. I agree that upgrading the heating system may help draw more events in the winter, but there doesn't seem to be any desire to make the change. As a city, Milwaukee needs to focus on a new basketball arena and downtown entertainment district.

The one event that the Brewers absolutely should be going for is the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

Agreed. It would be really cool if the WBC came here. That's definitely something that is conceivable.
