Question: NLDS

i hate this because the lower seeded team has the potential for more revenue from home games than their opponent. with this format, the cardinals are guaranteed revenue from two home games.

were it the normal format, the nationals could go 3-0 to clinch and only get the cardinals revenue from one playoff game.

This isn't the case. This article lays out how the revenue is split. A portion goes to the commissioners office, a portion goes to the players pool and the rest is divided equally between the series participants.

While you are mostly correct, you should replace "revenue" with "ticket revenue" as this quote from that article:

Game-day concessions, merchandise and other non-ticket revenue are not included.

indicates that all non-ticket revenue is the home teams.
