Ben Sheets to Retire.


I'm not purposely neglecting the park effects, I just don't know how to quantify them.

 

Safeco is softer on pitchers than Miller Park, but is the difference greater than being able to face weak hitting pitcher 70 times a year vs. facing a DH?

 

I really don't know.

 

I agree, Park factors are just awful in general. Much more so for hitters than pitchers though since at least pitchers tend to face an aggregate group of players. It is very easy for park factors to favor a hitter but in reality hurt said hitter or vice verse.

I absolutely loved Ben Sheets and miss those great outings he threw up there. However, comparing him to King Felix is tricky since King Felix's prime has been much younger than Ben's. Still, two great pitchers--why argue?
