A-Ram is a leader on this team... Who would have thought an ex-cub could be loved by brewer fans?

I love the guy, so glad we didn't trade him at the deadline. LOVE him!

It doesn't ruin our chance "at all?" Peralta has been nearly dominant. He was scheduled to pitch the second to last game of the season. I think most would agree we need to win today, and then win out to have a legit shot at the playoffs.

To go with a BP by committee, or to go with Thornburg for 65-70 pitches at this point after not starting in how long, I'd say it significantly reduces the chances we win that game, and obviously then at least hurts our chance. So maybe it doesn't "ruin," it, but it certainly does have SOME impact.

Well you said they are now done because of the Peralta injury which is kind of silly because he only had one more start this year. It will be more difficult to win Tuesday but the initial post was an overreaction.

Yeah, it was a bit of an overreaction, but to win out, you need almost everything to go right. Ie, Peralta pitching like he did today, and then again vs the Padres...who haven't been playing like a terrible team.

It doesn't RUIN their chances, but it is another blow to a team that has probably zero room for error.

So RRR decided to use one of his right handed hitting catchers to pinch hit...and he goes with Yorvit over Lucroy. WHY

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the lack of men on base. Not saying it was right or wrong, but maybe he would rather save Lucroy for a better RBI situation.

Fair point, but then that's your second best bat on the bench? Just a weird decision.

My guess....in RR's mind, it was a low leverage situation, he's got some power, and it's a good spot to get him an AB....I guess.

I guess in a 1-0 game and the possibility that a big situation could arise later on, he wanted to save Luc, but as you said, others would have made more sense.

The point is that by using Yorvit you somewhat limit your ability to use Lucroy since you dont have the extra catcher, especially in a 1 run game that could go extras. If you are going to use one of your catcher, in any situation, you use Lucroy and leave Yorvit on the bench. If you want to use Lucroy in a different spot...such as now, then you dont use Yorvit in the first place.

I couldn't agree more. I'm really growing tired of hearing Rock and BA go on and on about how you don't appreciate his impact on the team unless you see him on a day to day basis, but man, they're 100 pct right.

In Chicago, he struck me as a lazy, me first type player. Not a leader at all.

Seeing him everyday, he's the consummate veteran leader who just quietly goes about his business, and his defense has been so much better than I could have dreamed of. I don't know anyone who can come in on a bunt or grounder better than him.

Incredible signing. I was hoping that he's make his contract just simply NOT be an albatross, but he's starting to make it look like a steal. WAR over 6...and who knows the impact he's had on Segura, a kid that he's apparently taken "under his wing," and HIM making the call that Peralta was done was impressive.
