2012-09-25 Brewers (Fiers) at Reds (Cueto), 6:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 4-2]

It feels like the season is ending in a about 15 minutes. O well, at least we got a little extra entertainment in before Houston decided to keep being an embarrassment to baseball.

WHile I posted in the another thread that I think everybody will play to win the rest of the way, I really beleive nobody will shed any tears if the hot Brewers get bumped out.

And as I replied, I find the notion that any team would rather face the Cardinals than the Brewers pretty crazy. A team being hot and cold tell you how a team has done recently, not how they are expected to perform going forward. Vegas makes a lot of money on people who believe otherwise.

And for the love of God, somebody please beat these "woo" idiots into unconsciousness at every opportunity.

I second that emotion. On the radio, Uecker described them as "screamish." I like that.

[sarcasm]Pretty classy of the Reds to bring out 100 MPH dude for the 9th, since they're barely clinging to playoff hopes and all.[/sarcasm]

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I agree with the logic of that position, but crazy as it may be, there are an awful lot of people, including those inside baseball, who think exactly the way I described.

OK Crew, let's just find a way to win 8 in a row and see what happens.

Well, that should do it...

The last month was great, but the first 5 sucked... Had they been able to take care of business early on, we might be talking playoffs about now, instead, we will be talking about how to rebuild our pathetic excuse of a bullpen in the off-season.

Sorry for the bitterness, it's been a long season.

Yeah, I think we have to win the next 2 and hope the Cards lose tomorrow. Then we'll be 3 back with 6 easier games at home, and the Cards will have Washington and Cincy. That'll still be conceivable. Even if we're 4 back going into those 6, there's an outside chance if we sweep both series. I probably won't feel good about it unless we go into the weekend only 3 GB, which is a huge uphill battle.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Great post.

The character on this team is undeniable, not having folded when they could have multiple times. They battled back - often times in spite of themselves - and almost pulled it off. Personally speaking, it's going to be a dreadful offseason of 'what if' when I think about how many opps our bullpen squandered away. Conversely, moving forward, there is a lot to like about this team.

Last though, I plan to enjoy every minute of my time at Miller Park this weekend.
