Not saying there is a better option but Ishikawa getting a start against a lefty sucks.

 

He started Monday against a LHP and we still won. He's mainly in there for his defense.

 

A sample size of 1 game aside, if your 1B is playing mainly for his defense, that is a big problem.

Agreed 100%.

 

Also, why have him batting 6th, I'd bat Gomez in front of him for sure, and would even consider him batting 9th.
