ESPN's home run tracker is trying to tell us that Ryan Braun's home run last night went 404 feet.

Ah, no. Funny that Braun's 404 foot home run was a "no doubter", while Carlos Gomez' 404 foot home run was "just enough".

 

According to them, Corey Hart's home run was 429 feet. Funny that it landed in the stands, yet Braun's home run, which flew out of the park, was 25 feet shorter. I know Hart's bomb was more to straight away center, but I think it's clear that Braun hit it further.

 

I swear there is some kind of anti Ryan Braun sentiment at ESPN.

Not only that, and I think I've brought it up before, but if you watch baseball highlights with any regularity on ESPN, and they do a little cut-away to action shots of players, they are almost always from visiting teams in Miller Park.

I don't believe there's any way Maldy beats that out. He hit that ball as hard as you can on the ground, and he's easily the slowest player on the roster. Just because he wasn't running all out at the end of the play doesn't mean he had a chance. He wasn't running at 100% effort because he had no shot to be safe.

I keep hearing this factoid, but I have not seen/heard which 1900 team had the double-digit K streak.
