Milwaukee Bucks 2012/2013

LOL.

3 million less than Millsap got. A top 40 player in the league.

Unbelievable how awful Hammond is. Absolutely blows my mind.

i give him some rope because NBA players do not want to come here. any free agent the bucks sign they have to overpay for and it still may not be enough.

Bucks sign Delfino.

Up next: Bob Lanier and Mickey Johnson

Atleast Jennings + Mayo + Delfino is still much worse than Jennings + Ellis + Redick + Dunleavy. Even with these signings we are probably worse than last year. We will probably need to get lucky to get a Top #5 pick next year but I think as of right now we are squarely around 10 or so. I think some bad Eastern Conference teams have gotten better this year.

Of course if Jennings does leave then we are absolutely gunning for a top pick, I don't see that happening though

LRMAM to the Kings for two 2nd round picks:

So far the Bucks have 2 2nd round picks for next years draft and now 2 more for a future draft. Not a bad trade off compared to what the Bucks gave up.

Would it be difficult to turn these 2nds into 1sts?

No. Many teams actually prefer early 2nd round picks to 1st round picks. Talent level between the players are basically the same but contracts aren't guaranteed in most cases. In any case, you can usually buy late 1st round picks without having to give up any other picks. The Bucks just never do that because they're stupid.

They could maybe turn them into late firsts if they throw in some cash, assuming the seconds are in the realty portion of the round.

Some teams (like the spurs for example) love to take European guys in the second and keep them there for a few years. Second round picks have to guaranteed salary so teams do sometimes look to get out of the first round if they are going to be over the cap.

i think it would be hard to argue that Jennings isn't a better player than Teague and is 2 years younger. Also the bucks have lost ALOT of scoring this offseason and would loose another one in this scenario. That being said I think the bucks would be a better team to have Teague. He is a better distributor of the ball and isn't as inconsistent.

A team that starts Teague, Mayo, Delfino, Ersan, and Sanders is going to struggle to score 80 points a game. The greek kid might as well get thrown into the fire because that team will just be brutal. Not that it would be a bad thing but holy crap talk about no offense whatsoever.

There will be more moves. Bank on it. Although I'd like that lineup you posted - it would mean lottery for sure.

There wouldn't be a single guy on the team capable of consistently creating his own shot. I think thats the primary reason they would struggle. Yes Jennings and Ellis were ineffiicent but at least they could get in the lane and make some things happen, I don't think any of the new guys could do that. Drew will have to install a really nice offense for that lineup to produce; I guess we'll see. Plus Mayo, Teague, Delfino, etc have all been complimentary guys in the past with nice talent around them; forcing them to now be the go to guys is probably asking a little much.

So are they "tanking" this year or not? I'm not real familiar with the NBA salary cap rules, etc., but from reading other posts here it looks like they need to have a minimum salary?

I'm just confused, because if they're really tanking why sign Mayo and Jennings/Teague? You would think they would get rid of anyone not named Sanders and Henson, surrounded by Ayon and Ish Smith types. Then they sign Pachulia and trade LRMAM. Why would they want Pachulia over LRMAM?

I'm probably the only one, but I don't believe Hammond is an iditot. I do think he has a plan, just trying to figure out what it is.

Nope. Kings picks are early 2nd round, which are often preferred than late firsts because they are not guaranteed. Plus you get teams like the Mavs this year that tried to trade out of the first round to create more cap room to sign a free agent.

Luke Ridnour just got traded to Milwaukee. That means our 2 PGs will be Luke Ridnour and a guy who's ceiling is Luke Ridnour.

My goodness. They really are getting the whole band back together.
