2024 Olympics to be held in Milwaukee - Per WSJ.com

Bombers

Now that I have your attention :) ... If you took the city with the highest attendance, Wall Street Journal says Milwaukee would be the host! :)

Part of the article ...

Spectators will receive commemorative Olympic cheeseheads and be entertained by races between the Brewers' Sausages, who are already way better mascots than Wenlock and Mandeville."

It is kind of funny; but realistically Chicago will probably give it another shot for 2024 and no doubt Wisconsin will be utilized to some extent. I don't think Miller Park, Camp Randall, or Lambeau would actually be realistic options for sporting events though.

Ya I agree. I could see Chicago getting it and you are right, WI would be used to some extent. I know when Chicago was trying to get the 2016 games, WI tourism were hoping for Kettle Moraine would get the long distance bike course and/or other satellite events.

I noticed Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham are the two lowest in ratings. Looks like markets in Eastern time tend to have lower ratings, perhaps part of that is due to the fact that many of the good events start after 10:00 PM ET. Still, I'm not sure why the ratings are so low here.

Milwaukee is a great sports town, so it doesn't surprise me to see them on top. Lambeau and Camp Randall could be used for soccer, field hockey, etc. and the Kohl Center and Bradley Center for basketball. They'd need a new stadium for track and field though, which would probably just sit empty after the Olympics.

I would be embarrassed to use to the BC for anything; just not Olympic caliber without significant upgrades. A Kettle Moraine bike race would be pretty cool; I can't really think of anything else that Chicago just couldn't provide in the immediate area.

Please don't let Philly get the Olympics; we don't need batteries being thrown at the French. Toronto, Dallas, and CHI would all be nice choices

Sorry, Camp Randall cannot be used for Soccer or field hockey, the crown on the field is WAY too exaggerated for a sport where the ball has to roll on the ground. But it would be cool for Lambeau to host either.

And does the velodrome have to be inside? because Kenosha already has a velodrome (outdoors though)

I disagree.

I imagine they'd be willing to change the crown on the field at Camp Randall for the Olympics. Not that I'd expect more than 15,000 or so to watch the field hockey final anyways.
