Huntsville: RHP Josh Stinson at home vs. Pensacola (Reds), 3:48 PM pre-game, 4:03 gametime

Free Live Audio Link -- Select the Huntsville feed from the MiLB main audio page

Alex Cohen is the new play-by-play voice of the Stars; follow him on Twitter @alexmcohen. It's fantastic that Huntsville is returning to what will be a traditional broadcast format this year. All games, home and away, are scheduled to be broadcast.

MiLB.TV subsciption note: Huntsville road games in four locales (Mississippi, Tennessee, Jacksonville and Pensacola) will be broadcast.

Brevard County: RHP Nick Bucci at Tampa (Yankees), 4:00 PM gametime

Free Live Audio Link -- Select the Tampa feed from the MiLB main audio page

Once again this season, Brevard does not have its own audio coverage. It appears two teams in the Manatees North Division (within which the majority of games are played) have audio, and all six teams in the South Division have audio (at least for their home games), so there will be opportunities to listen to approx. 70% or Brevard's games this season, just all from the opponent's perspective. There are no Florida State League games on MiLB.TV this year.

**********

Wisconsin: RHP Chad Pierce at Beloit (Twins), 1:40 PM pre-game, 2:00 gametime

Free Live Audio Link - 1280 AM WNAM

Chris Mehring is back to do his customary fantastic work as the Voice of the Rattlers. Follow him on Twitter @CMehring; we'll link to Chris' infamous blog often -- Rattler Radio.

MiLB.TV -- for subscribers; Wisconsin is one of only two (Great Lakes) Midwest League clubs that have all their home games available via MiLB.TV; Chris' call provides the audio. So for the $39.95 season-long package, fans in Brewer Nation can watch all Sounds games, all Timber Rattlers home games, and Stars' road games from four Southern League locales, plus one July Helena series (11th-13th).

We're lucky to have Steve Wendt back on board for another H-Crew season.

Look for Nashville and Wisconsin media notes at the links just prior to their game times.

Huntsville is posting theirs more consistently (and did so Saturday). Rest your pointer under the "Roster" banner on the Stars' home page to see the link.

(Nashville's already updated for Sunday night.)

From Stars GM Buck Rogers:

Stars fans, if you didn’t attend last night’s game, or if you left early when the Pensacola Blue Wahoos jumped out to a four run lead in the top of the 11 th , you missed one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments that people will talk about for years. “Remember when…”

The Stars pulled themselves up by the bootstraps in the bottom of the 11th, nickel and dimed in a couple runs and the Hunter Morris sealed the deal with a three-run walk off home run. You can watch the shot on www.carsurvivor.com because Ben Boles of Jerry Damson Honda just happened to be behind home plate with his video camera on. The link is here.

Ben gets into the moment, you’ll enjoy his take on the shot.

You’ll get a quick update on Car Survivor 3 with Ben and Jill Cacic, then the Hunter Morris walk off HR and finally Hunter getting pied. I guarantee that you’ll have a smile on your face after watching this. Just stay with the video and you’ll see all three.

And if that isn’t enough for you, let’s just rewind a bit…in the last four nights the Stars have thrown a one-hitter, a combined no-hitter and had a five-run 11 th inning rally complete with a monster jack to end it all.

If you think baseball is one of those sports that isn’t fast paced enough I can only say that my hair is getting grayer and my pulse is racing night after night. Because unlike any other sport, this game will end when the players decide, not when the clock hits zero or the buzzer goes off. Fans last night got a real taste of never-say-die. That’s been Darnell Coles' influence all season long and if you were here last night you know you got goose bumps when Hunter stepped into the box. It was like an appointment foreordained.

For those that listened to Alex Cohen call the play-by-play, it was like a kid in a candy store who just got Willy Wonka’s last golden ticket and housed a 32-ounce Red Bull…I know I’ll listen to it again and again, Alex screaming into the mike ”DEEP FLY BALL TO CENTER FIELD……OH….MY….GOSH…….” followed by everybody going nuts.

Epic.

You never know what’s going to happen to end a baseball game. In football and basketball you’re going to exchange control of the ball, but in baseball there is no limit to what can be done when you’re on offense. That’s the beauty of the game. There’s always hope. If you were here you saw a fans heading out, accepting defeat. You saw the Pensacola guys high-fiving in the dugout, smiling. A couple Blue Wahoo fans were hugging up behind the visitor’s dugout.

Then came the bottom of the 11th , four runs down.

And it all changed.

Who knows how today’s 4:03 pm contest will end? If the last week is any indication, well, Alex Cohen will be hoarse by sundown.

See you at the yard this afternoon. Bring your camera because something crazy will probably happen again today and you’re not going to want to miss it!

If you can’t make it then log onto http://www.huntsvillestars and listen to Alex Cohen and the play-by-play. You can email questions, comments or shout outs to Alex at alex@huntsvillestars.com; Alex will answer all mail during his broadcasts.

Rock On!

I've got .wav files of Alex's final calls from both the no-hitter and the Morris walk-off, but we don't have the means to host them here.

If somebody is able to host them at a link we can reach, please let me know (jgoulart @ brewerfan.net) and I'll email you the files.

Thanks!

After the 2 1/2 minute intro, stay for the walk off, the reaction was hilarious....the interview with Morris was neat too....I thin k I may want to see him before the season is up in Milwaukee.

I hope Bucci pitches in the AFL, this has basically been a lost season.

Brevard blanks Tampa to take series

08/05/2012 8:28 PM ET

By Frank Longobardo / Brevard County Manatees

TAMPA, Fla. - The Brevard County Manatees recorded their tenth shutout of the season and second in its last five games as they blanked the Tampa Yankees, 5-0 on Sunday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The 'Tees took two of three from the first place Yanks and are now just two games back of Tampa for the division lead.

Nick Bucci (0-0, 0.00), who is currently recovering from an injury, made just his fifth start of the season and first outside of the Arizona League this season and threw four scoreless innings while striking out six. The 2011 Florida State League midseason All-Star scattered just three hits and did not walk a batter.

Brevard (24-20 second half, 53-59 overall) struck big in the fourth inning and it started with a one-out walk drawn by Jason Rogers. The 'Tees would then record five consecutive hits including a RBI double by Shea Vucinich, a two-run single by Cody Hawn and a RBI single from John Dishon to chase Tampa (26-18, 56-55) starter Shane Greene and take a 4-0 lead.

The Manatees would score another run in the fifth inning as Nick Shaw led off with a triple and came home two batters later on a single off the bat of Mike Walker.

Tommy Toledo relieved Bucci and earned his second win of the season as he threw three scoreless innings, while walking two and allowing two hits. Thomas Keeling would complete the shutout for Brevard as he threw a scoreless eighth and ninth, while fanning three.

The Yankees were 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position against Brevard County's pitching staff and left runners in scoring position with two outs on six separate occasions.

Offensively for the Manatees, seven out of the starting nine in the batting order recorded a hit, with Walker notching two. Walker is currently riding a ten-game hitting streak and has recorded at least two hits in five of those games.

After an off day on Monday, Brevard County will return to Space Coast Stadium to open up a six-game homestand and a three-game series with the Dunedin Blue Jays (22-22, 64-47) on Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m.

2011 first round draft pick Taylor Jungmann (9-6, 3.79) will get the ball for the Manatees as he looks to become Brevard's first ten-game winner since both Amaury Rivas and Evan Anundsen accomplished the feat back in 2009.

Box Score

Another huge win for the playoff chasing Sea Cows. Now they head home for a needed homestand and a new ace in the rotation.

That ace is Nic Bucci. What a boost he could provide down the stretch here. Bucci, Tommy Toledo and Wild Thomas Keeling combined for 9 IP 6 H 0 R 3 BB 10 K 1 HBP and a 7:6 GO:FO.

8 H's and 7 BB's for the hitters. Mike Walker (2-5) was the only guy with multiple hits. Nick Shaw (1-3 3B 2 BB) and Jason Rogers (1-3 2 BB) pestered the base paths.

Enjoy the day off, Water Bulls, and congrats on ending the road trip on a very impressive note.

STARS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – While it may not have been in as dramatic of a fashion as the previous night, the Huntsville Stars came back to beat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos by a score of 7-4 on Sunday night at Joe Davis Stadium.

A night after pulling off an improbable four-run comeback against the Blue Wahoos in the 11th inning, the Stars fell into an early deficit against Pensacola on Sunday. To begin the first inning, shortstop Billy Hamilton reached on an error and right fielder Josh Fellhauer drew a walk against Stars starter Josh Stinson. After Hamilton stole second and reached third on a wild pitch, an RBI single by center fielder Ryan LaMarre plated the speedster to make the score 1-0. Later in the inning, a RBI groundout by third baseman David Vidal scored Fellhauer to give Pensacola a 2-0 lead.

In the second inning, the Stars quickly cut the Blue Wahoos lead in half. Following a one-out single by center fielder Josh Prince, an RBI double by Adam Weisenburger made the score 2-1.

With the score the same in the bottom of the fourth Huntsville took their first lead of the ballgame. The frame began as right fielder Brock Kjeldgaard doubled and first baseman Hunter Morris drew a walk against Pensacola starter Kyle Lotzkar. The next at-bat, Prince doubled home both Morris and Kjeldgaard to give the Stars a one-run lead.

However, that lead would not last for long. With two outs in the top of the fifth inning, Pensacola first baseman Beau Mills began a rally with a double. After another double by Vidal drove him in, an RBI triple by second baseman Brodie Green scored Vidal to make the score 4-3.

From that point on, it was all Stars.

In the sixth inning, a sacrifice fly from Weisenburger tied up the game at 4-4.

In the seventh inning, the Stars took a peculiar route to go ahead for good. With Blue Wahoos reliever Josh Ravin in the game, shortstop Jean Segura drew a walk and second baseman Scooter Gennett singled to begin the surge. After a fielders choice by Kjeldgaard retired Segura, a wild pitch by Ravin put Gennett and Kjeldgaard in scoring position for Morris. In an attempt to intentionally walk Morris via a pitchout, Ravin threw two straight wild pitches to score both Gennett and Kjeldgaard to give the Stars a 6-4 lead.

A sacrifice fly by Segura in the eighth inning gave the Stars their final insurance run on the night.

On the pitching side, Stars reliever Brian Garman earned his first Double-A win, improving to 1-0 with two innings of scoreless relief for the victory. Closer Brandon Kintzler sent the Blue Wahoos down in order in the ninth inning for his eighth save on the year.

On offense, Prince led the way, recording his second straight multi-hit game by going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and two RBI. With the victory the Stars have now won four out of their last five games.

The Stars look to continue their hot-hitting ways tomorrow with game four of five against Pensacola at 6:43 p.m. RHP Johnny Hellweg looks to a strong outing following his one-hit, five inning outing last Wednesday.

Final: Wisconsin 2, Beloit 8

Snappers smack Rattlers on Sunday in Beloit

BELOIT, WI - JD Williams hit a grand slam home run in the fourth inning to give the Beloit Snappers a huge early lead on Sunday afternoon at Pohlman Field. The Snappers would cruise to an 8-2 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Miguel Sano hit a solo homer to start the Beloit half of the second inning. The home run, an opposite field blast to right-center, was his 22nd of the season. Sano leads the Midwest League in that category.

Rattlers starting pitcher Chad Pierce retired the first two batters he faced in the bottom of the third inning. Then, Beloit (59-53 overall, 20-22 second half) would load the bases on two singles and a walk. An error on a ground ball off the bat of Kennys Vargas allowed two runs to score and the Snappers to take a 3-0 lead.

Wisconsin (65-46, 21-21) got on the board in the top of the fourth inning. Cameron Garfield walked and went to second on a wild pitch. Ben McMahan's fly ball to center was lost in the sun by Williams and Garfield took third on the play. Mike Garza's sacrifice fly got Garfield home for the run to pull within 3-1.

The first three Beloit batters to hit in the bottom of the fourth bunted. Wang Wei Lin bunted for a hit. Jairo Rodriguez attempted to bunt Lin into scoring position, but reached on a hit when his popped up bunt bounced away from Pierce, who made a diving attempt at a catch. Tyler Grimes completed the streak of bunts when his foul bunt was run down by Garfield behind home plate for the first out of the inning. But, Pierce would hit the next batter to load the bases.

Williams made up for his miscue in the field in the top of the inning by hitting a high fly ball down the right field line that carried over the wall for a grand slam and a 7-1 lead for Beloit.

Both offenses were silent until late in the game after that home run. Beloit scored a run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning to go up 8-1.

Nick Ramirez launched a solo homer with two out in the top of the ninth for Wisconsin's first hit since McMahan's fourth inning single. The home run was the fourteenth of the season for Ramirez.

Beloit starting pitcher David Hurlbut allowed one run on two hits with five strikeouts over six innings for his fifth win of the season.

Each team has won a game in the first two played of the four game series.

Game three of the series is Monday night at Pohlman Field. David Goforth (8-5, 4.67) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Taylor Rogers (0-1, 7.00) is set to start for the Snappers. Game time is 7:00pm. Tune in for the radio broadcast on AM1280, WNAM starting with the Miller Lite Pregame Show at 6:40pm.

HOME RUNS:

WIS:

Nick Ramirez (14th, 0 on in 9th inning off Mason Melotakis, 2 out)

BEL:

Miguel Sano (22nd, 0 on in 3rd inning off Chad Pierce, 0 out)

JD Williams (3rd, 3 on in 4th inning off Chad Pierce, 1 out)

WP: David Hurlbut (5-5)

LP: Chad Pierce (5-4)

TIME: 2:26

ATTN: 2,430

Wisconsin Box Score

The Rattlers were beaten pretty soundly in this one. Chad Pierce allowed seven runs in just four innings. Two of the runs were unearned, but Pierce was still hit around pretty good. He gave up eight hits, including two home runs. Kevin Shackelford had another nice outing in relief, throwing two scoreless innings. Tyler Cravy allowed one run in two innings of work.

Not much offense again today as Wisconsin managed only three hits. Nick Ramirez cracked his 14th home run of the season in the 9th inning. A Brandon Macias double and a gift base hit for Ben McMahan were the only other hits for the Rattlers. Macias committed his 14th error of the season.

Wisconsin Play By Play

Rattler Radio Nine after 9

1.A couple of injury updates to start. Stephen Peterson said that his ankle buckled when he went to field that bunt in the seventh inning last night. He was getting treatment before the game. That will probably be the case over the next few days.

2.Chadwin Stang said that he was feeling as good as he has ever felt last Sunday and Monday in Clinton. Then, he tweaked something in the game against Burlington. He mentioned that he probably could have played today, but the decision was made to hold him out for one more day.

Helena 6 Missoula (D'Backs) 5

Box Score

Fun, tough game for Helena and I am glad they pulled it out. The clear heroes were the pitchers and Adam Giacalone.

First, 4th rounder Tyler Wagner started and had his best outing to date. 6 IP 4 H 3 R 2 ER 1 BB 6 K 1 HBP 6:1 GO:FO. Remember, this guy was mainly a reliever in college, so it will take some time for him to really figure things out. If tonight is any indicator, look for Tyler to make a big jump in the WI rotation next season. Brent Suter came in next and he got knocked around a little, but not to horribly. He did K 5 in only 4 IP while holding them to 2 R. Michael White finished with a bang (2 IP 0 H 0 R 4 K).

The rest will be about Adam Giacalone.

June: 9 G .118/.189/.176

July: 25 G .387/.462/.495

August: 5 G .578/.652/.947 (approx)

Whoa. He went 3-4 with 2 2B 1 HR ad 2 BB tonight. His homer was a wall scraper, but I'll still take it. He has multi-hit games in 7 of his last 10 including 4 3-hit games. Keep it up young man!

Jeff Hem from Sacramento:

Will try to figure out what the deal was, but Wily Peralta, after 2 mound visits from trainer, is leaving game in 4th inning. NSH down, 4-3.

Peralta's final line: 3.2ip, 4er, 4h, 5bb, 6k (80/44).

Oh no. I guess we can only hope it's nothing serious.
