Royals recall Jeremy Jeffress

I generally check in on all of the guys I followed as prospects who were traded that I haven't stumbled across blog posts or write-ups on about once a month. I'm surprised by this as I just made the rounds on Sunday. He hasn't exactly been dominant as his K rate is the only peripheral I'd hang my hat on, he's still walking too many and getting hit too hard for his stuff which would suggest his control still isn't where it needs to be. Jeremy didn't exactly impress in his 2 outings for the big club in mid April, nor was his July split very impressive. He's got to be down to his last option year by now so maybe they are just giving him a make or break opportunity.

Jeffress was too busy dodging suspensions through most of his minor league career to actually develop into a pitcher instead of a guy who threw really hard. Of the 4 players sent to KC in the deal for Greinke, the only one I regret losing is Jake O.

I miss Odorizzi and Escobar. Alcides has been great this year for the Royals.
