2012-07-15 Pirates (Burnett) at Brewers (Gallardo), 1:10 PM CDT [Bianchi's first MLB start, Brewers win, 4-1 - Gallardo 14Ks]

A great discussion would be McCutchen vs. Braun in terms of value. Man he was great this series (as was Braun).

McCutchen has had a ridiculously good first half of the season. Braun has had a ridiculously good career. Braun's season low batting average is also the same as McCutchen's season high. It's not much of a discussion until McCutchen proves he can put up all star numbers year in and year out. :)

And their career OBPs are exactly the same, even though Braun is two years further into his peak. Plus McCutchen plays a phenomenal CF, while Braun plays a very mediocre LF (although, I will say he's looked better this season).

Does he? The stats don't bear that out. Below average to average from the looks of it. I have little doubt he would be very good in a corner but he doesn't grade out well compared to his peers in CF.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I think pitchers will bypass Mccutchen soon as he the one Pirate hitter they have that can really hurt you.

today effort was awsome by Yo,Krod,Axe.It would have been great if they could have hung on last night for the Sweep.

Now the Crew really must go 5-1 in the next six games to really get a shot.

That was a fun game to take in yesterday. Lake breeze (or some breeze) kept the weather reasonable. Yovani (Sr.) was on his game - the Brewers had to resort to the K signs Bernie used to manually hang on his dugout railing since the pitchers combined for more than 15.

It was also Family Day, which meant some pregame play time for the kids of players and staff. Seeing Yovani Jr. on the mound was so sweet I feared for my diabetic S.O. ;)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
