2012-06-26 Brewers (Estrada) at Reds (Arroyo), 6:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 4-3; Arroyo takes no-hitter into the 8th]

Rock questioning RR's bullpen moves... Interesting development.

If I didn't know how dominating Ax was last year, and someone told me he was so dominating last year, after watching him this year, I would tell that someone he was a big fat liar.

I would have to think that Axford has to be kicking himself for not getting his long term deal done.

Him and McGehee.

Looks like we may have dodged 2 bullets.

I do n ot like the idea of tying up a long contract with lots of cash to a closer anyway, and Axford has proven why...

Barring a comeback against Chapman, the Brewers will be closer in the Central standings to the MLB-worst Cubs than they are to the Reds.

So much for that "one good week and we're back in it" argument.

I was going off your original post where you said Ishikawa is a waste of a roster spot.

Ishikawa IS a waste of a roster spot, he never should have been signed to begin with, he is WW fodder for a reason...

Which goes back to my original question which guy in AAA is a better infield option? Especially for a bat off the bench.

The Brewers aren't blessed with a bunch of spare good hitters lying around, as I said Ishikawa has OPS'd .740 at the major league level, not seeing any other bench guys available in AAA that have done that and Ishikawa has done just as much as Green in the minors while actually producing at a ML level hard to claim Ishikawa is waste of a roster spot given the alternatives this team has. Especially going back to the beginning when some thought Brooks Conrad was some obvious choice that the team was stupid to not have on the roster out of camp. Then the team was stupid for using him and congratulated for dumping. The bench weakness was pretty obvious from day one.

Chapman threw 17 pitches that inning. 3 of them were in the strike zone.

Sure would have been nice if Braun got ball 4 like he should have. I'm sure Gomez wouldn't have got a bunt down anyway, but it would have been nice.

I am pretty sure Aroldis' victory rolls have outclassed anything Papa Grande or Francisco Cordero have ever done. [sarcasm]Where's Pujols to mitigate these type of shenanigans![/sarcasm]

Chapman is nasty, so it's not like facing him is a walk in the park. I'd look to the poor offense in the first seven innings as a culprit instead of at bats had by two bench guys (asterisk of course for Maldonado) and Ryan Braun.

Ishikawa is a 1B only. At the start of the year he was a left handed 1B backing up a lefthanded starting 1B. That is why people(myself included) wanted Conrad instead. Conrad is not as bad as he played for us. That made Izturis our only backup at SS, 3B and 2B which is bad roster construction.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I agree that it is about time to prepare for a selling strategy in the personnel department. This series was critical to gain ground and failed to do so. I do not envy Doug Melvin at all right now.

All these 1 run losses, near misses and failure to perform the fundamentals in critical moments have taken their toll on this fan. It won't prevent me from going to games as much as possible though. I hope that fans continue to show up and support the team because it is critical to financially sustain any hopes of long-term success.

I'm sure this will get some negative responses, but I gotta say it.

Someone get pissed. Please. They lose frustrating game after frustrating game, and they look like they're resigned to their fate. Throw at someone for the somersaults tomorrow. Have Ron get tossed for arguing a call. Someone go Zambrano on a Gatorade cooler. Hell, have this happen- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RfMVu-bfng.

I don't care. I just want to see something that shows me they give a crap.
