I do like what RR is doing with the roaming DH, giving guys like Braun and Ramirez days off from the field...

Since I finally found a way to give him props, thought I should type it in.

Half srikeouts? I guess Green can't play 3B, or any other position for that matter...

He hasn't started a game in the past 6 outings, and while we are playing american league teams, you'd think he could find a start here or there...

Did I miss something, is he still with the team?

Yeah, I suppose. I guess I don't really mind take a shot every so often. Not going to get too upset about it.

If it was bang-bang it'd be hard to get upset. He wasn't even remotely close to beating it.

True, true. When the outfielder bobbled it, I thought, "Ooh! He's got a shot at a triple!"

Then I saw the throw and where Aoki actually was. D'oh.

And when WGN comes back from showing the replay of that catch, they show an ad for the Illinois Lottery "Anything's Possible."

That was seriously one of the luckiest catches I've ever seen.

How much more time can this team give Izturis? His batting line looks like a pitcher's. Hopefully Ransom is the full time guy after this series.

The problem is that neither belong on a major league roster.

As a follow-up to an earlier post, Cody Ransom:

76 AB (89 PA), 38 K

I'm not sayinga he hashas hit well. He has still been better than Izturis and projects to be better.

Interesting factoid: Out pf all hitters with over 4000 pa's Izturis has the 9th lowest wRC+ (61) of all time.

Not surprising. I have seriously yet to see him hit a ball hard this entire season. Maysonette provides comparable defense and at least a modicum of offensive firepower.

Another guy coming off the DL that is being out-performed by his replacement is Estrada. Both guys have 5 starts now and Fiers is clearly the better pitcher. More consistent, better location pitcher, strikes out more guys, gives up fewer dingers.
