2012-06-20 Blue Jays (Carreno) at Brewers (Gallardo), 1:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 8-3]

I try hard not to be a woulda/coulda/shoulda guy. Though you often hear the cliche "You are what your record says you are" thrown around in NFL discussion, I think it probably is much more apt in terms of baseball. Nonetheless, I can't help but feel just a little that this team could be sitting at about 36-33 right now. If there is any consolation in the fact that they aren't it's that the reasons they aren't are pretty plain to see, and we aren't left scratching our heads about a whole lot. Maybe the coming road trip will be a turning point, but then we've been saying that since about the third week of the season.

Chiming in relatively late: we took my 6 year old nephew and his dad to Wednesday's game. Even in shaded seats, I could feel sweat running down my back before the Brewers' half of the first. However, four home runs will do wonders to keep a 6 year old interested, so I was glad they picked this game to do that.

On the way out, in the Molitor lot, the guy whose season tickets are directly behind the Brewers' dugout (Brewer Bob?) saw us walking and offered Nephew a ball. What a kind thing to do. Nephew was already jacked up from the day, and that was possibly the topper.

Edit: The guy who gave Nephew a ball isn't Brewer Bob, but this guy ("that cat who looks like Judge Ito"). I knew I'd find this thread from 2009 eventually. Anyway, stand up move.

There is also a guy who sits behind the Brewers dugout in the first row with glasses that is a huge fan, and he too doesn't miss any games. I think if you watch the broadcast of the Brewers clinching game against the Cubs last year, there is a shot of him after Braun's homerun with a great look on his face as he is cheering Braun that says it all about the moment.

You talkin' about that cat who looks like Judge Ito? I love that guy.

Ok, I found out who he is, his name is Rick Schuller (I'm not sure how to spell his last name) but he is the guy that sits across from Baseball Bob and has glasses and wavy hair. I also forgot to mention that he ALWAYS brings a glove to the game.

Rickey

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
