Thanks for getting the thread up. I was at the game today, but got stuck rushing around doing errands and chores before the game. As I was speeding away late from my house to pick up my friend for the game I realized I never thought a moment about the thread today. Oh well.

That 9th inning was miserable, but I'm curious if it could have been avoided. That ball that got by Weeks in the 9th, it looked to everyone around me, that Weeks could have had gotten it with any actual effort. Was that just the perception of being there? If Weeks makes that play, Hart is in position for the next chopper and the game is over. Instead it became the nightmare it was.

Im glad im not the only one that thought that. From where I was sitting (loge outfield 1st base side) it looked to me like Rickie didnt even make an attempt to get that ball. I saw tweets from Axford after the game that he was getting "hate tweets" about his performance today. Must have been the same "fans" that were harassing Lucroy's wife. On a positive note, I didnt hit any construction between Milwaukee and Eau Claire!

We got there, sweated a lot (maybe mostly in the 9th despite being in the shade), and managed to improve the hawing 2012 record to 5-9 (which somehow sounds more manageable than 4-10). Crazy jersey/shirsey sightings included a signed Ben Hendrickson special, a retro BRATWURST 1, and about a billion variations on Morgan/Plush/@TheRealTPlush.

I did temporarily make over my Villanueva shirsey into a Maldonado, which I guess turned out to be the right call. Since thablingster was kind enough to take a couple of photos of the shirt on my back, I've got images, but only on Facebook at the moment. Seems it used to be doable to copy one photo from Facebook, but I don't see the link for doing that anymore.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I never understand people who act like this. So the guy didn't pitch well. Who cares? Hell, I don't even understand the point of booing, especially when it's a guy like Ax who has been so good for us. It's not like he's not trying. The dude is pretty much everything we could want in a Brewer.

You should just make your Facebook page viewable to the entire world.

I was just thinking about the 9th inning again, and I had noted at the game that the Padres had seemed to quit swinging and were just hoping for walks.

I just went back and looked it up, the last 4 batters combined to swing at exactly 1 pitch out of 24. Granted Axford and Veras were issuing walks, but every out also came via a called strike. Also, in comparison, the first 5 batters swung at 13 of 30 pitches.

Strange minutiae.

Hawing's converted Villanueva to Maldonado shirt is pretty fantastic. If you want to show people, you could always ImageShack or Photobucket it.

Speaking of jersey sightings, I saw a retro Suppan in the terrace concourse.

In regards to the ninth inning, I think the Padres caught on to the fact the strike zone had shrunken badly. Maybe they were trying to work walks, but it almost got them all the way back.
