So, this being Memorial Day weekend, I decided to watch a few movies I haven't seen in ages.

 

Friday night was "When Trumpets Fade" If you haven't seen this one, make an effort to do so. Good flick.

 

Saturday was "Full Metal Jacket" One of my favorite war movies of all time.

 

Sunday was "Thin Red Line" A movie I did not care for too much when I originally saw it in the theater when it came out. I appreciated it a lot more this time around though. Nicely done, and a bit deeper than your typical blow-em-up war movie.

probably my favourite war movie is Kubrick's "Paths of Glory" starring Kirk Douglas. certainly more political than action-oriented, it's also my favourite movie ending of all time.
