The Jonathan Villar trade was also updated; you shouldn't have to think hard about which Astros deal it replaced as the most recent.

Prior to the cash considerations acquisition of Tampa RH reliever Jhan Marinez on 5/12, the last Brewers - Rays trade was this one:

 

12/01/12 -- Acquired RHP Burke Badenhop in exchange for OF Raul Mondesi, Jr.

 

Now keep in mind that the Raul Mondesi, Jr. that the Brewers traded at that time is not the more famous younger brother of the same name, the heralded Royals prospect who was just suspended 50 games for a PED violation.

 

And the Mondesi, Jr. that the Brewers traded never played a single game in the Tampa system, just sort of disappeared via injury / absence from the pro game. He was also the Brewers farmhand who somewhat famously missed home plate on a home run trot while with Helena in 2012, costing his team the game.

Prior to today's trade with Atlanta involving minor league LHP and former 1st round pick Jed Bradley, the previous deal with the Braves was this one:

That was a really fun time for me because I had stumbled upon the obscure link and tip that a deal was going down and linked to the cool speculation thread that I tweeted to here. Nice thread to re-visit as we wondered if what was to become a 1-for-1 deal could have been something much more.

 

Quintana, recently turned 22, is scuffling in High-A ball this year. Wren is with the AA Biloxi squad.

This article thinks we don't get anything of consequence. I assume Chapman would be up when Torres, Boyer and others were moved. Then I assumed he would be up for at least the three cheap years. I assume the PTBNL is if he get so much time on the Rays major league roster. Chapman seems like he had more value than a maybe bottom wrung prospect.

 

Or was Chapman not doing well for Colorado level of pitching?

Only six organizations had a longer trade drought with the Brewers before this Angels deal was replaced by the Jett Bandy trade:

Kind of goes to show how many deals are indeed made, even though it may not seem so at times. As the initial post shows, many are very minor in nature.
