Milwaukee Dining

fondybrewfan
I went to Rumpus Room over the winter and was disappointed. Beer selection was good, but there are lots of places downtown with good beer selection. We split 2 appetizers, one entree (which might have been a sandwich) and had a total of two beers and it was close to $60. I could see stopping in there for drinks, but I don't think I'll eat there again soon.

For casual, good beer list, decent food, I prefer one of the Cafe Centraal, Trocadero, Cafe Hollander places.

See, I think that's entirely reasonable for a meal for 2 people. Also, it depends greatly on what apps you get there for prices.

You guys who live in Milwaukee are pretty spoiled by the quality of food/beer you get for the prices. Don't get me wrong, Chicago has better dinning which is should just because of the population, but I miss that sweet spot of price for food you get.

No doubt you can get a lot of food for not too much money in Milwaukee. I didn't feel like I got very much for the money at Rumpus. Good value compared to Chicago, sure. Good value compared to places within a 2 mile radius, not so much.

All in all, Milwaukee has a great (and improving) dining scene.
