Gomez hitting there against Romo is inexcusable with Morgan, Ishikawa, and Green all on the bench. Need a LHH there.

Or Lucroy. But yea, Gomez was the 4th or 5th best option there. Pretty strong show of faith from Roenicke there, and it backfired. I guess he wanted to save the PH for Izturis/pitcher spot. Still don't really get it though.

God, Ax in a tie game is so terrifying. It's so bizarre how much he can struggle sometimes

I'd prefer a LHH against Romo with the slider he throws. But Lucroy also would've been better. The easy solution was just to put in Morgan and leave him in the game in CF.

agreed. a small part of me kind of likes it a little bit, for the "you want to get some more ABs Carlos? OK, go win this game against a RHP" attitude. Probably not the right time for it, and I'm a fairly statistical driven person so I don't really like saying this....but it's nice to see faith put in a young player. Someone else still should have been used.

And if the brewers lose, disregard this message.

Romo was way off tonight, but he still only needed six pitches total to strike out Gomez and Weeks.

He has 179K's in 448 PA vs RHBs in his career. 40%. He's just wicked vs RHB.

Now the question is where to use Lucroy. Because you have Kottaras, Izturis, and the pitcher's spot up against a LHP with only LHH left besides Luc. Probably have to wait now.

Would have used him for Kottaras. If you bring him in for someone else, Bochy likely puts a RHP right back in.

Although George is a very patient hitter, so that works too.

Yup, I know he's death vs RHBs. But he hung one to Gomez on 0-2 and to Rickie on 0-1. He was definitely not lights out tonight. Looked ordinary to Aram too.

Bill: "That might've been a triple."

How? It bounced into the seats.

I've only been watching the last couple innings, but they have yet to go to commercial since the 8th. Just highlights and commentators between innings. What's that about?
