Still curious to see the lineup they throw out there. Obviously Weeks is in it because he's a righty. Course he is hitting an amazing .200 against lefties this year. So maybe this is his breakout game where he gets a hit AND swings at the first pitch.

Exactly what I said. Aoki, then Hart but love the Lucroy placement. I would have also moved Ishikawa one more up and dropped Weeks to 7th. But about time.

I agree with moving Ishikawa up, but it's probably because we're facing a LHP. Maybe he and Weeks will flip-flop against RHP. At least Conrad isn't starting.

Hart might be the second best hitter on the team, so I am happy to see him batting higher in the lineup. As has been pointed out, his power is somewhat underutilized leading off, though. He HAS to bat 1st though, so RR can start sacrificing from the 2 hole again.

Even now I would prefer Weeks over Aoki in the 2 hole but I don't think it will effect much either way.

I think Hart being in the leadoff spot is more because he was so successful there last season than it is so he can use the 2 hole to move runners over. Surprisingly, it didn't seem like he did much of that earlier in the season. If it's Aoki in there I like him leadoff, but Morgan and Gomez are probably better in the 2 hole or lower in the lineup. Especially Morgan, because he hasn't been getting on base enough. Might as well use him to bunt Hart over if he's gonna get out anyway.

You do have to wonder. If Conrad doesn't start against LHP, why is he even here? More importantly, if Green never plays why is he here? By the way, not in blue, I'm pretty sure the Sounds have put out better lineups than this over the last few years.

RR is a dweeb. That sums up all questions in one blanket statement.

With every line-up he trots out there, more questions are raised, than answered.

Green needs to play.

RR is a dweeb.

Conrad is here because Gomez hasn't been activated yet. He'll pinch hit against LHP so a guy like Morgan doesn't have to. And then on Sunday he'll be replaced.

I'm guessing Green isn't playing because he's being protected from hitting against LHP. I don't know his splits, so I don't know if I agree with that or not...but that's probably the reason. I get that it'll be the fourth straight game he hasn't started, the past two have been against LHP, and in the others Ishikawa hit two HRs (and then was coming off a 2 HR game). I don't want him up if he won't be playing either, but I would guess we'll see him this weekend unless Ishikawa has another great game.

Today's happy thought: the Brewers are on pace to lose 93 games.

They simply can't afford to lose this series. From a baseball perspective it's still really early, but a bad homestand might see the atmosphere at Miller Park turn a little bit.

Nice catch, Nori.. don't ever.... do it again.

*Edit - Marco might not give up a ton of runs in some of his starts.. but opposing players hit the ball really hard off of him.

Geez, Weeks would've killed that pitch last year. I honestly don't know what his deal is.
