I'd like to send Dillard and Chulk to AAA, recall Peralta and Wooten for the pen. I normally have been anti-Peralta in the pen, but Estrada is doing a good job (low WHIP) and we're seeing a decent amount of high-end players successfully converting from minor league starter to big league reliever to big league starter. I'm thinking of CJ Wilson, Adam Wainwright, Phil Hughes, Neftali Feliz, Jeff Samardijza (sp?), etc. If Peralta is to be in our rotation next year, I'd rather he have legitimate MLB experience. Learning to attack hitters in key moments of games could be a nice step in his development. I'd also restructure the pen a bit. Loe is deserving of being a primary 7th inning guy, but Veras and Parra need to harness their stuff, and Peralta's stuff and Wooten's success would be nice complements to the pen.

Parra is the new Jorge De La Rosa, except people aren't as enthused. His stuff is ridiculously good and he'll tantalize us with some awesome outings, but the consistency isn't there.

Was at the game yesterday... did I miss something with K-Rod? Was he not available?

As much as he's struggled, I'd still rather have him in the 8th in a 3-2 game than Manny.

I'm assuming Roenicke didn't want to use him because the Brewers didn't have the lead/the game wasn't tied.

I think that I might be the only one on the world that thinks Estrada is a poor man's Dave Bush. I would rather see one of the young guys come out of the minors like a Fiers or Peralta and have them be the #5 starter, and then throw Estrada in the bullpen. I think he would be more productive there. Let's face it. The starting rotation is not our problem. That pen is. We have multiple guys that shouldn't be on the roster, or wouldn't be in other organizations. Estrada fills a more important need in the bullpen than he does in the rotation. But that is just my opinion.

I'll get on board with you on this. By no means do I dislike Marco as a starter; and I imagine he appreciates a more regular schedule (and who knows how much that contributes to his relative success lately). But I sure wouldn't mind having his current level of effectiveness in relief.

Also: Wasn't Vinnie Chulk's callup intended to be kind of an emergency stopgap measure? It's been over two weeks. No one else at Nashville is more rested now?

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
