Wow. Ishikawa comes in to pinch hit, after a 5 pitch walk, and swings at the first pitch. I never understand it. All the pressure is on the pitcher and you bail him out on the first stinking pitch. Unbelievable. What a frustrating loss.

Another series loss. 6 in the last 8.

Yeah, the first pitch popup is just infuriating. I can see wanting to ambush a first pitch, but you have to pick your spot and maybe ambush a guy who is actually going to hit a predictable spot. Hard to ambush a guy who is all over the lot, and who has all the pressure on him.

It's the story of the season so far, missed opportunities by the offense, and I'm not really sure what happened to the D on the ball Votto hit. Votto couldn't have hit it any better against the defense alignment, but something happened from Point A to Point B...that ball was certainly fielded in time for a play at the plate, but there wasn't even a throw.

First pitch or not, it was a fastball down the middle. Why fault him for swinging at it?

Believe it or not, a walk to the preceding batter (even a 5 pitch walk) does not noticeably increase the odds of seeing a walk to the subsequent batter. Actually, i think the exact study looked at 4 pitch walks to the preceding batter.

Brewers just find ways to lose this season. Beautiful start by Greinke wasted.

Cueto is tough but when you are struggling and your starter gives you 8 shutout innings you have to find a way to win the game.

Ax sure does seem to struggle when he isn't protecting a lead although I know those hits today weren't exactly smoked.....

Counsell always hit well in bases loaded situations because he always tried to ambush the first pitch. He said the pitcher won't want to risk the walk and will throw it over the heart of the plate. That first pitch is often times the best pitch you'll see. I don't blame the mind set, I blame his baseball ability.

SERIES LOSS with both Gallardo and Grienke going that bad . The brewers will not be a playoff team with this lineup. I sorry but i don;t want the old brewers who make game intresting and lose and want wins now that what we should expect. They need others to step up Beside Mr Braun, where is Mr Weeks

How about the leadoff double by Ramirez and Corey rolling over an outside pitch to 3rd, to start the bottom of the 2nd? Lucroy singles in next at bat (which would have scored A-Ram) and then Green hits into a double play.

But I still disagree on ambushing on the first pitch. Especially with bases loaded. All the pressure is on the pitcher to make perfect pitches. He just came out of the pen and walked the first guy.

Hopefully next time our #5 hitter starts bunting guys over too. Come on, really?

Silver Lining is that Ron "Small Sample" Roenicke might be inclined to start Green over Ishikawa in the next game

Is there some large sample that says he should? Everything about Green is a small sample at the major league level.

I actually would like to see the young guys play to see if there is anything there but it isn't like Green is Bryce Harper or anything or that Green never plays, he started the game today.

Good RH hitters will try to take the ball the other way in these situations. I know that's a foreign concept to most of the Brewers lineup...

Good hitters should hit in that situation, instead of trying to ground out to 2B.
