Rock talking about pitcher's height is spreading ignorance to the masses

In what way? I didn't catch all of it, but wasn't the gist of it that you don't have to be super tall to be a successful pitcher?

I believe his exact words were "you don't have to be tall to throw hard, and you don't have to be hard to get outs." I pinky swear that's what he said.

Good to see the Brewers getting back on the right side of the ledger!

Down here in Texas, where I now live, the former Rangers play by play man, the late great Mark Holtz, used to celebrate a win with his signature "hello, win column!" I have adopted this great saying for my Brewers.

So, hello, win column!

Great to see the offense get in a bit of a rhythm, and a nice outing from Yo.

I see Brauny is now sitting at .306 with a nice 4 for 4 night (plus a walk). It was only a matter of time before he got into the groove. He's too good a hitter to keep down for long.

He's on a pace for nearly 50 HR. I'd say that he's doing just fine without Prince behind him!!

Enjoy it for what it's worth. Rickie is OPSing 110 points higher than Albert Pujols so far this season. For those who have watched Rickie all season, that's pretty hard to fathom.

This blew my mind. Ricke has been borderline unwatchable

His other reasoning was that Tim Lincecum has two Cy Youngs, so you don't have to be tall to be good. Aside from Pedro and Billy Wagner, I can't think of any noteworthy under 6' tall pitchers the last several years.

I can't either. One pitcher that jumps to mind under 6 foot is Fernando Valenzuela, but he's not pitched since 1997. Hardly a recent example.

I'd thought that Trevor Bauer, the young stud prospect for the Diamondbacks, might be under 6' with all the comparisons to Pedro Martinez, but he's 6'1".

During Monday's game I was feeling slightly left out for not being at social media night (as other bf.netters were), but Tuesday's action more than made up for that. Here is a partial list of good things that happened on our trip to MP Tuesday:

Our ticket rep upgraded our seats from 417 to 110, row 2. We were next to the 1st base line ballboy, which means...

The Ishikawa leaning over catch was about 10 feet away from us. I haven't found us on the video clip yet.

All the hits to RF went right past us, including the Cesar Crush. Nyjer's bat rolled sort-of near us. Rickie hit a line drive foul to our section, which someone behind and to the left of us caught.

We had a good view of the Nyjer catch early in the game.

Before the game, a little boy behind us was waving at Nyjer. Nyjer came over, gave the kid a ball and shook the dad's hand. Let's all remember this the next time the rest of the world declares Nyjer to be a thug, because that action was the opposite of thug. The kid's dad talked about Nyjer the rest of the night.

This isn't related to our seats, but the Brewers never trailed in this game. It was so nice. Also, the Brewers are still undefeated on home Tuesdays in 2012 (and possibly on road Tuesdays too; I'd have to check). Easily the most fun I've had at a game this youngish season.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Outstanding, hawing! I'm hoping to make my first game later in the fall (it will be a Rangers game, as I live in the Dallas area now). My back is messed up, but one of my goals is to get to the ballpark this season. Nothing like it to me!

It's always nice when you go and your team plays well, isn't it? Last time I saw the Brewers here in Arlington, they killed the Rangers. I had to contain my enthusiasm. :laughing

I think Green would need to start putting up a .400 batting average week in and week out before Roenicke would start him

I am not sure that would be enough. Unfortunately my faith in DPR making good choices is gone, done, kaput.

DPR? Still? What are you, 12?
