Mark A on a panel at the Milken Conference

The Milken Conference was held here in town the last few days. The conference is put on by the think tank and features thought leaders from various industries. Mark Attanasio was on a panel hosted by Jim Gray discussing the sports business. Mark has always impressed me as a thoughtful guy and certainly was here. He does have to split time with the others so unfortunately it's not all him. There is a discussion on TV rights, small & large markets, the value of MLBAM (Mark mentioned it could be worth $7B...his share would be about what they paid for the Brewers), general economics including labor, the NFL in LA and a fair amount of history (including a facinating story about the St. Louis Spirits). More for the sports business geeks among us...not much on the current Brewers themselves.

Aside from being local, Mark used to work with Mike Milken at Drexel back in the day, which probably led to his connection with the institute. I think he's also close with Gray who followed him around during last year's playoff run.
