Wow. Kotsay krush and a K-Rod meltdown.

The Brewers better hammer Suppan tomorrow or my family will need to remove all of the small appliances and the bathtub from my place.

Boy, Roenicke sure seemed subdued in his post game conference. I'm sure getting beat late and being shut out has a lot to do with that, but you have to wonder if part of it is Gamel. He said when he went to swing while on deck, Gamel could tell something wasn't right with his knee. He said doctors are going to look at it tonight. He said he wasn't sure if it was a small tear or what. Said there's a lot going on in a knee, so its hard to guess. Weeks told him he saw the knee turn some before it impacted the wall.

Didn't sound great. Hoping for the best...

As I'm in bed last night listening to Uecker I hear Kotsay come up and think to myself "Well, at least he's not much of a home run threat." Whoops. That pitch from K-Rod was definitely a mistake pitch, right on a tee.

If the Brewers are the first team to lose a series to the Padres this season on the contributions of Kotsay and Suppan, I think our only option is to interpret it as the baseball gods punishing us for past indiscretions like untuck em and beast mode.

I woke up this morning, heard the score but no other recap on the radio, checked the recap at brewers.com and gasped aloud once I realized what had happened. For glayvin out loud.

So I've determined my nightmare scenario for Wednesday's game:

- a complete and perfect game for Suppan

- with the final Brewers' out made on a Yount-esque diving catch by, say it with me, Kotsay in CF

- and a 1-0 win on a balkoff with Kotsay batting and Suppan on 3B. Or Suppan batting and Kotsay on 3B - that detail is interchangeable.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I've had just about enough of Rodriguez.

This reminds me so much of Hoffman's demise a couple years ago.

Backend relievers lose it really quick.

Yes because a lot of pitchers are just done at age 30, that is much more common than the 30 or so RP who get off to a bad first 12 innings each year.

It's funny that people think Kotsay was such a good pinch-hitter, when he had a .601 OPS and 0 HR last season as a pinch-hitter for the Brewers.

well he did hit .293 with a .356 OBP as a pinch hitter, not too bad when in most situations you are just looking for a hit or walk to keep the inning alive not necessarily a HR.
