2012-05-01 Brewers (Marcum) at Padres (Volquez), 9:05 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 2-0]

I really wish they had a better option for a backup 1B. Ishikawa/Conrad are not the answer. I guess the best would be Hart at 1B with Aoki in right but Hart has made it known he doesn't like 1B. The best would probably be both Green and ARam at the corners but I don't think either has much experience there (and ARam probably wouldn't want to play there).

Positive thoughts guys...let's hope he's ok and that it just tightened up on him from banging it on the wall...

The way he was writhing in pain, I don't think it's just tightness.

Everyone does realize Gamel is OPSing .641, right?

Obviously It will hurt if he is out for awhile but lets not act like he was setting the world on fire.

So because Ishikawa has a higher OPS, he should be the 1B all year? Come on man, you do understand sample size right? Gamel is easily the better talent, plain and simple.

To be fair, he did look a lot better before that shoulder injury. Also, that's an incredibly small sample size. He's looked good in my opinion. Hate to lose any regular player. Especially when his backup is Ishikawa. Sucks especially for Gamel. Final got his chance, and now he gets hurt.

I never once said Ishikawa should be at 1st base all year.

I'll admit losing Gamel wouldn't be as bad as losing Braun, ARam, Hart, or Weeks. But I also think he was going to have a big year and now, depending on severity, he might be done for awhile.

Actually, when Dan Wright was moving his knee all around and bending it, it didn't look like he was in pain at all.

Nice zone, Winters. Wow.

Hopefully it's not an ACL, on the replay it does look like it bent funny.

Trying to stay optimistic though.

I swear I'm not trying to start a panic, but I can't get out of my head the fact that Yovani's big knee injury was May 1, 2008. You want your sick May Day joke, here you (potentially) go.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Yeah, good point. Seemed like he tweaked it swinging the bat though now. Hard to tell at this point, gotta keep our fingers crossed.

Umm I dont think Marcum is going to do well when the ump is literally forcing him to throw it middle middle.

Edit: but then again we are playing the Padres

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

I would say if he got hurt when he banged into the wall I'm not concerned. If its prior to I would be concerned.

I don't think it was the wall. I think he tried to stop from crashing into the wall and hurt it when he planted his leg.

That's not even cool. I'm choosing to be optimistic though, whether its logical or not.
