Not to derail the thread, but in regards to the punch-top beer can, the big brewing companies intentionally release tons of redundant product to minimize shelf space for other beers. In other words, they want you to see a wall of Miller Lite when you walk into a 7-11 so you won't buy any craft (tasty) beer.

A lot of Braun love on MLB network right now. It's a shame he has to have games like this to 'allay suspicion.' Maybe MLB will put his face back in some promos.

Don't worry, with the ASG coming up, I'm sure they'll put the NL MVP front and center... oh wait....

He started every game last year (33 G) and put up a 3.69 ERA. That's pretty solid for a 3. But he's not even the 3rd best pitcher numbers-wise. Marcum is. When do you dump him for some prospects? This year? Who do you trust to replace him?

Wolf had a 4.47 xFIP last season which shows that his 3.69 ERA was quite fluky. He doesn't have very good stuff as it is and he's going to be 36 in June. His ERA was over 7 before the game started. He better turn it around soon or Melvin might start thinking like me. I'd trade him at any time I could and call up Fiers or Peralta so at least you have a pitcher with some sort of upside.

I swear the team has never worked on leading off with a LHP on the mound. Ever.

Wolf's career xFIP-ERA is 0.23 and that is mostly in pitcher's parks, so that 4.47 xFIP suggests about a 4.24 ERA. Not sure how a 4.24 is considered bad by your 4th starter. Especially one who has thrown 190+ innings for 4 years straight. No reason at all to worry about Wolf right now imo. No reason to expect a sub 4 ERA either though.

I don't know who the Padres color guy is, but he has me rolling on the floor with his Brewer fan analysis, talking about going up to the cottage in Door county and the cheese castle in Racine.

Yeah, I like him. I've never liked Enberg as a baseball announcer, though.
