Morgan needs some time off. Let Aoki take on that role for a couple weeks and see what he can do.

Gomez has been playing well let him take over for a few straight games.

No. As much as I like Gomez, he's proven in his career he is better off not facing many righties.

He wont be facing many righties, because we are only talking a few games. Ride the hot hand.

The hot hand does exist. No denying it. Look at any player's best week (or month) and their worst. Clearly spikes in performance exist. The question is when do you take advantage of it. I think we all agree it wouldn't make sense to constantly play chess with who starts, the lineup, etc.

Morgan, however, is worthy of discussion. Look at his numbers year to year, and it's not surprising he's struggling this year. Aoki is hard to project, but I just believe he's worth a look. Better to do that in April than September. (Although I'll admit I don't know how Aoki's defense compares to Morgan.)

Gomez does have a track record. Playing full time he simply can't keep up this pace, or at least never has. I think we should be thankful he's productive in his role, and if he can come close to keeping up this pace all year, that's a win.

That's more what I meant. I know hot/cold streaks exist but you shouldn't really mess with trying to predict them because you don't know when they will end. So usually you just play the better player. I agree though that Morgan should get some time off and Aoki should take his place. I was just saying that just because Gomez has been playing well doesn't mean he should be starting every game.

Hate the IBB. Not a good move.

It's a good move. You force Mattingly to make a decision there. He either pulls his pitcher who was doing really well (and likely had another inning in him) for one of several pretty weak hitters or let him hit and well, that's obviously good for the Brewers.
