Ugh, more Izturis. A really awful player backing up 3 positions. He's going to get way too much PT this year unless we find an alternative.

I know the budget was already stretched, but an extra $2.5M or so to keep Hairston would have been well worth it for this roster.

He's only playing because Gonzalez is on paternity leave, in case you hadn't heard that

He's still going to play everytime Weeks, Ramirez or Gonzalez needs a day off because our backups consist of a backup C, two backup OF's and a backup 1B.

Yeah, I know, I'm just referring to the fact that he's going to get far too much playing time this year because of the fact that he is the only guy anytime Gonzalez, Ramirez, or Weeks needs a day off.

Over the course of the season that's going to add up to a lot of AB's for a really bad hitter.

When Counsell left I didn't think they'd possibly be able to replace him with someone who would make me miss him, but that's exactly what they did.

I'm hoping he's not long for this team. And I couldn't agree with you more on your Counsell sentiments. Never thought I'd miss him either, but he was just on the pre game and that's exactly what I was thinking.

Lets get a W today boys...could really use it.

If we are in contention at the break, I would imagine we'll try to find a decent utility infielder for cheap.

But that's still probably half a season or more of a complete hole in the lineup anytime an infielder needs a day off. God forbid any one of them goes on the DL and "Izzy" is forced into regular playing time.

At this point no level of ineptitude will cost him his spot since we have no backup SS without him.

Another soft tosser that they 'haven't seen much'. I'll be shocked if the Brewers score more than two runs today. After watching the game last night, I'm convinced that a team could track down Ben Hendrickson, sign him off the street and he would shut down the Brewers on three hits for eight innings.

Beachy throws 93 and is a very good pitcher.

I think it is easy to forget that the Braves are as talented as any team in the NL. Without that epic, weird collapse last year theycould have gone deep into the post-season

Beachy is a good pitcher. He Ks 10.4 per 9 innings, so we're going to see a lot of strikeouts today.

The Brewers are 1st in the league in HRs and 4th in runs scored. The pitching and defense should be getting a lot more of the blame for the losing record so far, despite the 2-1 loss yesterday.

Taylor Green is off to a very slow start in Nashville, hitting .194 (a .324 OBP though) and a .615 OPS ... obviously that is a very small sample and of course he can't play SS

Yadiel Rivera is off to a great start in Single A ball, hitting over .300 , again a small sample and he's at least 2 years away

The Brewers really need a backup infielder who can play SS ASAP
