Obligatory pre-game lineup commentary:

Solid lineup. Flip-flop Lucroy and Gonzalez and we have a winner.

Agreed. But at least we have Gamel hitting 6th now where he should be.

What a great and intriguing pitching matchup.

One of the (many) things I love about baseball is that it is a 162 game season. The sting of a tough loss is lessened with the knowledge that another game is just a day or two away.

Looking forward to this one

Yeah I don't have many complaints about the lineup today. I would move Lucroy above Gonzalez, but for some reason Roenicke really likes Lucroy in the 8-hole. I'm much more willing to give the manager the benefit of the doubt on these things so early in the season, almost as if these games count for less in the standings. Strange.

I'm feeling a big day for Greinke at the plate today. Gallardo got a lot of hype as the team's best hitting pitcher yesterday and I imagine "Science or Bravery" will go out there hacking today.

Only two games in, and it's time for my annual mental breakdown due to MLB weekend blackout rules. Good old exclusive national rights for FOX on games that are broadcast regionally so I get nothing on MLB.tv. And good old MLB coverage maps...the atlanta area gets DET/BOS and the rest of georgia gets the Brewers game. Ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as the dakotas each getting a different game, or Fairbanks getting the Angels game while Anchorage gets the Red Sox game.

Well it's about an hour and a half to Macon, I suppose I should get moving

Thank you for making me search for that nickname. The corresponding article had me doubled over with some of the nicknames.

Ha, when I saw we were getting BOS/DET (I'm in Marietta), I figured it made sense - probably has more national appeal. But then the rest of the state gets the Brewers? Time to find the game "elsewhere."

Awesome, I had totally forgotten I wouldn't get this game on MLB.tv due to the blackout rules.

The sooner MLB does away with those silly blackout restrictions, the sooner MLB.tv explodes as the way to watch MLB games.

Not really surprising. It is bar-day, so the crowd (yet again) will be late arriving.

Based off of what I have seen in this first inning the Brewers need to re-sign Greinke asap and give him what he wants.

It's really weird rooting for A-Ram.

It really, really is weird. I still haven't forgiven him for that 2007 walk-off.

just sat down in my seats in miller park and its sad to see today such a swarm of red shirts/jerseys today...lets make those redbird fans upset

I was dismayed enough to see as many as I did yesterday. It's probably my non-competitive XX chromosomes talking, but if I lived in another market, I'd be content to let the home fans have their opening day in peace. In that specific sense, I'm not looking forward to seeing the STLs come out on Sunday.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
