My Spring Training Trip 2012

Barrelman19

Spent a week in Arizona this year and had a rough go of it with the Brewers. Players must be tired of autographs by the time I got there.

Game 1 at Maryvale

Robin Yount on a full size helmet

Gamel signed, but didn't need him

Everyone else ignored

Game 2 at Maryvale

Robin Yount on a ROMLB

Gamel signed, didn't need

Don Mattingly ROMLB

Everyone else ignored

Game 3 at Goodyear

Logan Schaeffer

Martin Maldonado

Braun signed for one kid and that was it

Game 4 at Maryvale

Robin Yount on a mini helmet

Gorman Thomas on a ROMLB

Jonathon Lucry on a ROMLB

Yovanni Gallardo on a ROMLB

Was only able to get Yo since I had seats right next to the bullpen and when he came out to watch the game I was standing alone and he came over.

Aroldis Chapman on ROMLB

Overall I was pretty disappointed with the players ignoring fans. Most didn't even wave or acknowledge everyone.

I also went to Diamondbacks practice two mornings since I heard the access was great

Alan Trammell 2 ROMLB

Kirk Gibson ROMLB

Matt Williams ROMLB

Lyle Overbay

Paul Goldschmidt

Daniel Hudson

Tyler Skaggs

Don Baylor

Saw Justin Upton one morning and I was the only one there but he didn't stop.

From my experience, it usually gets harder and harder to get players to sign as Spring Training goes on. The very beginning is easiest, and it becomes very hard by at the end. I think players just become more focused by the end, whereas at the beginning they leave games earlier and such and are more open to it. Might be different for others, but that's what I've found myself.
