No word on what the corresponding move will be, but it looks like 23-year-old LHP Mike Strong (stats), the Brewers 10th round pick last year out of Oklahoma State, is joining the Timber Rattlers' pitching staff, as per this tweet from RHP Mitch Conner, who has also been in Maryvale for extended spring.

Update from the Manatees:

LHP Brian Garman placed on Brevard County disabled list retroactive to 5/1/12

RHP Stosh Wawrzasek transferred from Helena to Brevard County

Wawrzasek will be active when Brevard County travels to Palm Beach Friday. His number will be assigned upon arrival.

The pronunciation of his name is: Staw-sh Wor-za-sek

We now know that RHP Tyler Cravy has been sent back to the Helena roster (extended spring training) to make room for Strong.

Edwin Maysonet contract purchased (he has one option remaining) and Taylor Green recalled. You can look to your normal sources of big league Brewers coverage for the stories.

This should set off a flurry of activity within the chain, probably not for Sunday, but certainly by Monday.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Huntsville Stars and Milwaukee Brewers have announced a handful of roster moves prior to the start of their five-game series at Jackson.

Infielders Jeff Bianchi and Andy Gonzalez were promoted to Triple-A Nashville. Bianchi was hitting .351 (27-77) with four doubles and six RBIs. He was second in the Southern League in average behind Jacksonville’s Jake Smolinski. Gonzalez was batting .322 (28-87) with four doubles, three home runs and 14 RBIs. He just ended a 14-game on-base streak Friday but followed that up with a 4-for-4 game Saturday evening.

To replace the open roster spots, infielder Juan Sanchez has been promoted from Brevard County for the second time this season. He will join the team tomorrow in Jackson.

With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 24, one below the Sothern League limit.

What can I say, sometimes these moves are easy to predict.

The Manatees activate catcher Brent Dean from the 7-day DL.

This move filles Juan Sanchez' roster spot after his promotion to Huntsville.

It also gives Brevard a third catcher in case Shawn Zarraga can't quite go yet (left Friday's game with a finger injury).

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Huntsville Stars and Milwaukee Brewers have announced a pair of roster moves prior to tonight’s game at Jackson. Outfielder Khris Davis has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to May 6. Infielder Domnit Bolivar has been activated from the disabled list.

Davis is batting .328 (22-67) in 25 games with Huntsville this season. Bolivar, who was placed on the DL on April 30 is 11-for-45 (.244) in 16 games for the Stars.

With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 24, one below the Southern League limit.

Earlier indications were that Davis is battling a calf injury.

You may remember this video report from the J-S Peanuts and Cracker jack blog staff in spring training on LHP Connor Whalen.

Whalen (stats), who has seen limited activity with Brevard, goes on their 7-day DL (undisclosed injury). Fellow southpaw Brian Garman (stats) comes off the DL after the minimum 7-day stint.

Not really a transaction, but 2011 DSLers currently stateside playing in Arizona include pitchers Joel Dicent, Juan Francisco, and Eliezer Montano (though I'm not 100% sure about him), as well as one of the two catching Mejias (I couldn't tell which, though I assume it is Deivi), infielders Orlando Arcia and Sthervin Matos, and outfielders Dionis Hinojosa and Raul Mondesi, Jr.

Edit: Also infielder/outfielder Yonki Hernandez.

There are definitely a few more than that, but those are the ones I was able to pick out and/or recall at the moment.

Also, Joey Paciorek has been playing first base from what I've seen.

1B Nick Ramirez transferred from Helena roster to Wisconsin

IF Adrian Williams placed on Wisconsin DL retroactive to 5/8

The 21-year-old Williams, out of UCLA, has been the Rattlers' 25th man with limited playing time, but this seems a move out of convenience, rather than injury. Regardless, it's nice to see Ramirez is ready for action after the hamate surgery.

You might say one of the reasons for the Rattlers' success thus far is continuity in the lineup, but there's little chance Ramirez' arrival will hurt things at all.

Via the Stars:

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Huntsville Stars and Milwaukee Brewers have announced a few roster moves prior to tonight’s game against Mississippi. RHP Rob Wooten has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville and RHP Eric Marzec has been transferred to High-A Brevard County. To fill those two roster spots, LHP Dan Meadows has been transferred to Huntsville from Nashville and RHP Hiram Burgos has been transferred to Huntsville from Brevard County.

Wooten, the Stars closer, was tied for the Southern League lead in saves at eight and led the league in games finished (14). In 17 appearances, he had a 1.74 ERA (4 R / 20.2 IP) and converted all eight of his save opportunities. Marzec appeared in 10 games for the Stars after being promoted from Brevard County on April 12. He was 1-1 with a 7.53 ERA (12 ER / 14.1 IP).

Meadows, who spent part of 2011 with the Stars, has a 4.42 ERA (9 ER / 18.1 IP) in 13 games with the Sounds. The 24-year-old lefty was a Southern League All-Star in 2011 before being promoted to Nashville in July.

In seven games (six starts) for Brevard County, Burgos is 2-1 with a 0.87 ERA (4 ER / 41.1 IP). His longest outing of the season was on April 24 when he pitched eight complete innings of one-hit ball. He gave up just one run in the loss to Clearwater.

Both Meadows and Burgos will be active for tonight’s game against the M-Braves. With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 25.

Congrats to Wooten. He could be in the Brewers' pen by the end of the month. We need a 7th inning guy/short reliever. Veras has good stuff but needs to start going after hitters.

As per Chris Mehring, yesterday's Rattlers starting pitcher, RHP Jacob Barnes, goes on the seven-day DL. Taking his place is the returning RHP Tyler Cravy, back up from extended spring training in Maryvale.

No word on Barnes' formal injury status.

From Brevard:

LHP Alan Williams transferred from Brevard County to Helena.

LHP Connor Whalen activated from disabled list. Whalen will be active in tonight's game against Daytona.

***

Not sure what to make of this other than it may be a personal or family matter for Williams, but then why wouldn't the organization make use of a temporary inactive list or such.

On the bright side, it's not a DL stint. Imagine we'll see him back soon.

Williams is a real lefty relief arm to watch (stats for the indy league signee).
