autographs, signings, and tips, part 1

jason21nl

I know the Hart signing was posted in the fan forum section of Brewers.com where they show the schedule for the autograph fridays. The Gwynn one was never posted. Should be a small turnout. Wish I was going.

I really hope Jenkins does a signing sometime this season. I wanna get a bat signed by him.

PrinceFielder28-

Are you going to the TGJ signing?

Does anyone know this is confirmed for sure? Did anyone call the fan zone?

Also you don't have to pay for parking to get there do you?

btw, about the whole getting stuff free and not paying, I tried that tonight, I was very successful with Weeks, got him on an 8x10 and a rc, then I decided I would try and get more, after TGJ was interviewed by Ann Caroll(YUK!) he came over and signed, there was me and maybe 15-20 other people, once Gwyyn came over, I was in the front, and I basiclly got raped, it was horrible, people just shove and push until they get to the player and I was hardly in the seats, I was getting pushed onto the field, not to mention my bobbles that I had in my backpack could have easily gotten broken, I like getting stuff free, and I'm glad I got Gwyyn, I just wish that people weren't such jerks, Gwyyn was really nice though. I've never done the lot either, but I am going to give it a try...

BrewCrew,

I'm glad you like him, but I think Jenks is a jerk, he came out almost 7 minutes late tonight, luckily I was for Weeks, and last year he skipped all together once and then lied about it, he never signs when he doesn't have to, I know he isn't mean-spirited or anything, but I am not impressed, I'll just put it that way...

I have no idea about his character or signing habits otherwise but I got Jenkins last year on one of the autograph Fridays and I was impressed at how many people were herded through the line in such a short period of time.

Billyhallfan, we must have been standing side by side down there getting Gwynn. It was ridiculous. My friend and I were in the front and I almost ended up on the field. My friend is short and she was getting bombarded, and finally Tony told everyone to back off. I've been down there many times to get autographs, but tonight was by far the worst experience ever.

Then what bothers me is that most people don't even say "Thank you." They expect the player to sign, and get mad when he doesn't. But when he does, they don't even give a simple thanks.

oh I know it, and some people were trying to get more than one thing signed while others hadn't gotten anything, ridiculous...

I was one of the people who got Jenks. I was pretty impressed by how quick he got everyone through also, but he did come out at least 5 minutes after everyone and I believe was the first one to leave.

Jeff said on the radio yesterday, that the J.J. Hardy signing has been the fastest and best selling signings ever. They have less the 100 tickets left for the June 2nd signing.

Also for autograph Friday's would I be able to bring a bat into the park to get signed? I am guessing no, but I thought I would ask first. Thanks!

holy crap, so far I have had an awesome weekend, I skipped the TGJ signing and just went to the lot, this is what I got between friday and today:

Weeks 8x10

Weeks rc

Hart 8x10

Wise 8x10

Yost 8x10

Capuano 8x10

Jenkins ball

Estrada ball

Miller ball

ball that already had other people on it I added Graffy, Counsell, Spurling, Skaleen, and Hanel

And I just got back from the Snappers game and I was lucky and was able to get a Sandberg Fleer rookie signed, very fun, fun day for me, not trying to brag, it was just awesome...

bhfan, do the players in the lot sign for everybody or are they more prone to sign for youngsters such as yourself. Just wondering since I'm approaching middle age and don't want to look like a knob knocking over kids to try and get autographs.

no they sign for everyone, you would be fine, infact there are some jerks, also known as dealers that are there and they sign for them, except Counsell told one guy no, he said that he already had him enough, that was kind of funny, but there was one guy there that had to be around 50+...

This may already be answered but what time do the players get to the lot before a game lets say at 7:05PM?

I might go next monday for my birthday and get some autographs.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

What was her offer?

If I can speak for Matt, since we were there together, this lady offered him $150. Considering he paid just $8 for the bat, I said do it, but he didn't.
