autographs, signings, and tips, part 1

jason21nl

People who get in line at 5:30 and butt ahead of people who have been waiting since 3:30 are the ones who will ruin autograph Fridays for everyone.

Ushers who do nothing to stop those people from butting into line don't help matters much either.

I hope you aren't saying that I cut in front of people, I actually mistyped that, I got there at 330, if you don't believe me you can ask 20fry, he was right in front of me, I don't know what the point of your post was, pretty low to accuse people of cutting when you know no facts or haven't even seen who I am.

You accused yourself of cutting in line. I didn't type that you showed just as the the gates opened and got a Prince autograph. You did. Don't accuse others of low behavior when the problem is your bad reporting.

well, i didn't cut, i got there at 330, ask 20fry if you don't believe me, and I don't know who you think you are for trying to accuse me of that, last time I checked that isn't yor place.

I'm trying to explain that what you wrote yourself accuses you of cutting in line. I just quoted you. I don't doubt for a moment it was a typo. I was in that line and it is my place to call out the people who showed up at the last minute and cut in line. Take the trouble next time not to identify yourself as one of them.

Unlike the majority in that line who pushed, mashed and skipped to the front. Brain (BHF) was undoubtedly one of the few people who actually "deserved" to get him. He got there early, stood in the lines and respected the general rules of proper conduct.

it wouldn't even be possible for me to cut in line if I got there at 530, by then the lines were out to the parking lot, after all the people pushed and shoved at the top of the stairs is when I would have gotten in??

I'm sorry you got so upset by my post. But I think one or more people who showed up near 5:30 did get an autograph. Near 5:30 some people who hadn't been in line did get in the front of the line despite the fact it extended to the parking lot. Some people, as you know, also ran by people in line to the top of the stairs and got in line there (where an usher should have been posted). So it was quite possible to show up near 5:30 and get an autograph if you didn't respect the line.

this may be a stupid question, but where can you find the players, to get autographs? i know where the player's lot is, but they almost never sign. Do you just get to the ballpark early, and go down by the dugout? I got Chris Sampson's (Astros pitcher) autograph when i went to a game earlier this year, and he was down by the visiting dugout.

I guess this fall under the "tips" portion of this thread...

I noticed that the Brewers website now carries the following disclaimer : "Due to anticipated high demand, autographs cannot be guaranteed for all fans". I know it's common sense, but after all the complaining lately it would seem that if nothing else, they recognize the problems that have been occurring.

like Jimmy said, Braun signed with that group last time, so I too am almost positive that it will be Braun, and brewdude, they sign at the lot, they've slowed down, but two weeks ago I got Glavine, Cordero, Mench, Yost, Wise, Capuano, Suppan, Jenkins, and Nelson...

You got Glavine? That is very cool, has Braun quit signing in the players lot? Im thinking of going tomorrow to get him and Jenkins on 8x10's I have of each. Could I at least get Jenkins you think? What time should I get there if I go?
