Nice look at D'Vontry Richardson

Disciples of Uecker have a nice look at D'Vontrey. I never really thought much of him, but he sounds pretty intriguing. Wonder what others who have seen him think of his future.

Tools and athleticism do not necessarily translate into usable baseball skills, however, especially for a player like D’Vontrey who is behind in the development curve due to his previous football focus.

 

This part is probably what most people think of him. When he was drafted anyone following the draft knew he had 5-tool possible skills (not Braun power, but good for a CF) and that he was very raw.

 

Thus, I am waiting to see if that turns into production. I actually expect him to struggle at AA this year, as his instincts are still behind the curve (pun in intended). But with him right now, its not so much production as it is improvements. And he did improve last year.
