I know this is the "beta test" but I gotta say, the site works better for me in tapatalk than on a desktop regular browser. Very fast and great for reading. Posting is obviously better with a keyboard, but otherwise this is great.

I installed it on my phone tonight and in a very small sample am pleased with the small amount of navigation I did.

If you see more IGT posts from me on Monday or Tuesday 8/6 or 8/7, you'll know why.

I've been prompted to log in a second time every time I've tried looking at an IGT via Tapatalk, and the connection never quite gets made after I (re) enter my username and password. The connection woes could be my less than super smartphone, but not the extra login prompt.

I've placed a test topic in the "What's Hot" area. Could Tapatalk users try accessing it and let us know whether they experience the same problem with that topic? It could be that the issue is specific to Global Announcements (What's Hot).

I entered Tapatalk just now, logged in to Brewerfan without incident, navigated to the what's hot thread Casey referred to, was asked to log in again, and a couple of minutes later the phone is still "Processing" that request. This is consistent with what happens when I try to access globally announced IGTs.

Ive had the same issue since I installed Tapatalk, it says "the requested topic cannot be found" and then prompts me to log in, Ive found that just refreshing the page fixes it and loads the IGT without incident.

I've posted a second "What's Hot" topic at the top of this forum titled "Tapatalk users: please look at this topic too ." Could you take a moment to check to see if that one causes trouble too?

 

The difference between the new topic and the others is that it only appears in a single forum (this one).

 

Thanks for the potential workaround, AZBrewCrew. We'd like to get this fixed the right way, but it may be helpful to others in the meantime.

 

recte44, I'm not sure what you're looking for. You should be prompted to install Tapatalk the first time you visit this forum with a mobile device. I'm not sure how you'd set up if you dismiss the prompt and decide to install Tapatalk later. Maybe someone could chime in with those instructions.

FWIW, I just noticed Tapatalk does the same thing when clicking on this main topic.

Tapatalk logs me in automatically, isn't that one of the advantages of it???

That's what it's supposed to do, but from the reports here, it's been asking people to log in again to view any topic that's made into a global announcement ("What's Hot" topics that appear on every forum page).

 

Has anyone had better luck since the setting was tweaked this morning?

I'm not sure what it was doing beforehand, but I'm not experiencing this problem now.

I just tried it again. Still got the login box. After entering in my info, it seemed to get stuck "Processing..." for a good 20 seconds or so, but then finally loaded the topic.

I got an e-mail this morning saying that there's a Tapatalk update available. It's for the board end; nothing's mentioned about client software. I would assume (hope) that the end-user software would let people know if updates were available.

 

Before I try seeing what Tapatalk has to say about our issue, I'll get the update installed and see if that helps. The installation process includes an extra step this time around, so I won't be doing it right away as I don't want to risk breaking what works. Sometime this week, hopefully…

I still got the login pop up when trying to log in to today's IGT (9/4), but didnt have the issue with yesterdays IGT when I opened that up just now.

The global "What's Hots" are unique as they appear on every forum page and don't "belong" to any forum. When an IGT (or any other topic) is removed from this area, it turns back into a plain ol' regular thread.
