Changing your password

To change your password,

1. Navigate to [rurl=ucp.php?i=profile&mode=reg_details]your account settings page[/rurl].¹
   
2. If no e-mail address is displayed, you'll need to enter one into the "E-mail address" and "Confirm e-mail address" fields.
   
3. Enter your new password into the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" fields.
   
4. Enter your current password into the "Current Password" field. Your current password would not be the password from the old Yuku board. It would be the one that was mailed to you (or, if you've already changed your password, it'd be the one you set up).
   
5. Hit the Submit button at the bottom of the page.

Any subsequent logins will use your new password.

1. If you wish to navigate to your account settings page without having to come back to this topic, the "standard" way to get there is:

1. Open the User Control Panel at the right hand side of the navigation bar. The navigation bar is located at the top of every forum page.
   
2. Hit the Profile link in the sidebar on the left side of the page. A list of four links will open up.
   
3. Hit the "Edit account settings" link that appears in the list.

It needs to be noted that adding or changing your e-mail address deactivates your account and that reactivation has to be done manually by a board administrator.

 

Admins are notified by e-mail when a reactivation is necessary, and it only takes a couple of mouse clicks to reactivate a member. If an admin is at his or her computer, the process is fast. If we're not around, there may be a wait.

 

If you'd like to get around deactivation, you can send an admin a PM or e-mail containing both the old and new address, and one of us will do the change for you.

 

Password changes do not deactivate accounts. For security reasons, we prefer that members change their own passwords unless there's an unusual circumstance involved (like a login issue).
