I think that if we would build some refineries in this country you would see a large drop in the gas price. We haven't built any since the seventies. Our energy consumption isn't going down anytime soon (and neither is China's).

His sole point was the cost of gasoline, not the ethics of using it. If you are going to have this boat and something to pull it, you're likely not as worried about low gas mileage in your vehicle as the next guy who works minimum wage and has to drive 15-30 miles to work every day, EDIT: assuming all moral and environmental dilemmas were equal on either side.
