Son #1 is geeked...

Received his email yesterday (he does umpiring; spent 6 weeks at Harry Wendlstadt's school this past January:

 

Well, I just got news to make my entire summer, possibly entire year.

 

My primary (umpire) assigner presented me with the opportunity to work a U14 game inside freeking Miller Park!

June 29th.

 

The assigner left me VM this morning stating that my game for that night has been cancelled but he has an offer for me.

Based on my level of service I as one of the two that he targeted to work this game. Its at 5.00 on the 29th of June, and he was worried that I might not be able to make it based on time of day/week.

 

Pssssshhhhh. The list of things I would not reschedule for this is either very short on non-existant.

 

Then, when I called him back and as popped into his mind, he realized that he could possibly make it a 4-man crew.

 

And almost 100% likely is that the stadium will be open to family/friends etc.....

I had to read that three times to figure out what "geeked" meant. I guess I assumed it was like "punk'd". But I think in this context it means "so excited that he's bouncing off the walls", or I can think of a couple Larry the Cable Guy comments that would appropriately describe his excitement
