I like that interview. He seems like a good guy and I appreciate his credo to "come prepared." I still miss Powell and his insight on the farm, butim welcoming joe and think he will be good.

I like that he sounds nothing like Cory P or Jim P. Those guys sounded just alike to me.

I don't listen to many radio broadcasts anymore, but occasionally I have to and I like quality. We've been lucky that Uecker has been our worst announcer for several years!

I'm going to bump this so it's easier to find (absent a search feature, for now) once we start hearing Joe in action.

I have been happy to see that he's open to tweeting to fans. Cory Provus was within his rights to maintain a distance while with the Brewers, but more than once during his tenure I found myself a little envious of Braves fans, who had a ready twitter ear in Jim Powell.

From what I remember, Bob is given an active role in the hiring process.

Of course, there's always the chance that Bob's initial impression could be wrong.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I like the fact that Lucroy is throwing out baserunners and they're turning double plays when Joe Block is calling the game.

He seems to be doing well. I'll get used to him quickly. I like his measured excitement when calling big plays. Not over the top, but paints a good picture of the action. All I can ask from a radio play by play announcer.

I really like him. I hear a touch of Garrison Keillor in his voice/delivery haha

Also enjoyed Uecker's subtle emphasis on the word "another" when saying "another new partner". I think he's sick of changes.

I noticed the same thing. I don't know if I blame him. I liked that Uecker said soon after, of Joe, "You're gonna like him, folks." :)

I'm not sure how to put into words of my first impression. I know the guy had to be nervous, even just a bit. My wife said it sounded a bit like Jim Paschke when he did Brewers TV--not great but not terrible; a voice that was kind of just "there."

I wasn't impressed nor was I put off by the guy. I guess I'll have to reserve judgement for now. Ask me again in June or so.

(Unlike Provus, whom I had an opinion pretty quickly.)
