Arte Moreno really doesn't screw around. Supposedly Pujols gets a full no trade clause along with that quarter billion dollars.

Being completely honest, I think a quarter billion is already a no trade clause.

Finally some good news this off-season. So long Albert. The best thing is, playing on the west coast, ESPN can ignore him and we never have to hear about him! Oh wait, they have LA studios now...

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

Obviously great news for Brewers fans. So long as Prince ends up in the AL; I would consider this a best case scenario. The Cards will still be a strong team but you certainly have to believe their offense is going to take a major hit. Berkman is just old and shouldn't be expected to duplicate what he did last year especially without Pujols around

That is a ton of money that the Angels will surely regret 4 or 5 years from now but I could careless; very good news for the Brewers

I'd guess that, as an AL team, they may have had a bit more hope that a 41 year old Pujols might possibly still be of some value to them.

The funny thing is, at least for next year, it's not the end of the world for the Cards. Move Berkman to 1B and make Allen Craig the full-time RF and it's still a pretty nice lineup. Once Berkman's done, then they have a big hole to fill, but they should still contend next year and they won't have that insane contract dragging them down.

True and this is a franchise who gave up valuable pieces for Vernon Wells and his contract, so they could just be replacing one awful contract with another. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I imagine the Cards will resign Furcal now. Probably add a reliever.

As someone said, they are still a good team.

They are still a VERY good team and they will have a healthy Wainwright next year. As things stand right now, I don't see how they are still not the NL Central favorites.
