Solid player. Probably a decent buy low deal. Bit surprised at the 2-year deal. Also a club option for 2014. Probably means the Cubs think DeJesus will bounce back, so they are looking at him as more than a one year guy.

That's a great deal for the Cubs. DeJesus isn't a world beater but he's an average to slightly above average starter being paid like a bench player.

Dejesus and Barmes seem to prove decent everyday players are worth about $5M. Anything better than that is going to get $6-7M minimum.

If you really think the value of a win will be priced at $2.5m you should be clamoring for the Brewers to trade Braun before the rest of the league catches on to player costs falling by half.

A .150 BA and .509 OPS will tend to do that. Granted, it was over 222 at bats, not 500, but it's not like Colvin raked in the minors either. He walks at a poor rate, doesn't have a lot of power, and doesn't move that great defensively in the outfield, not exactly a lot there to love and think he's an everyday player at a corner OF spot.
