Justin Sellers

Brewer Fanatic Contributor

Anyone know much about Justin Sellers of the Dodgers. Looks like a good field, no hit type guy, but I saw him a couple of times last year and liked his play. Nothing great, but okay. Dude was skinny as heck.

I thought with the Dodgers set around the IF (Dee Gordan at SS, Uribe at 3B and Ellis at 2B), he might be the kind of guy to try out for minimal cost. Anyone know much about him? I see he hit well in the AAA the last two years (pacific coast league, so take it for what it's worth) with a .867 and .937 OPS respectively. He takes a lot of walks. How is his defense (like I said, I saw him a couple of times, that's it).

Just fishing around for suitable AAA players who might be able to play SS for the team next year.

Hector Gomez Colorado Rockies. Hasn't done anything in the majors and minor stats ok, but if he has a solid glove and speed for the league minimum. I saw him listed as Colorado's #10 prospect for 2011 on Baseball America's prospecting rankings for the Rockies. The Rockies are looking for a starter and Huston Street's name has been mentioned. The Crew could pick up an 8th inning guy and a shortstop. Narveson and some mid level prospects with the Crew taking on some extra salary.

I have never seen Sellers play, but if he could be acquired for a couple of minor leaguers not in the Brewers long term plans, why not take a shot!!
