their late game must-score offense has always been painful to watch.

How about their, we have 15 SECONDS in the game, and need 1 POINT to tie and 2 POINTS to win....let's shoot a an awful 3 from above our head that doesn't even get to the rim late game offense? That was putrid.

The only solace I take from that game is UW played very well and lost to a very good team. But man that game was there for the taking. Just find a way to get in the lane and kick it out; our guys were open the whole game.

Frustrating end for Taylor despite the good game; I have no idea who will play the point next year

UW was so outmatched. It really shouldn't have been close. The 3 PT barrage made it so

Exactly. And the final possession perfectly summarized why they shouldn't have been close. Aside from open three-pointers, the Badgers had/have nothing consistent on offense. Syracuse had a better athlete at basically every position, AND they were missing their best player.

And I totally agree, Jack'74, the lack of any play drawn up for that final 15.5 seconds is pretty unforgivable to me.

I'm guessing Traevon Jackson will be the guy. Physically, he looks like a smaller version of his dad, and maybe a smaller version of Jordan Taylor.

Outmatched? You guys are funny. Those threes were WIDE OPEN for the most part. It was the passing offense that kept them in the game. Not luck.

And George Marshall will be running point next year. Redshirting this year.

You could tell on the last possession that no one other than Taylor wanted to take the shot.

Next year, I'm guessing they start Gasser, Brust, Evans, Bruiser, and Berggren....with George Marshall (redshirt freshman PG) coming off the bench to either spell Gasser or move him to the 2.

They were outmatched athletically, I thought Syracuse played better defense, & the Orange were able to get their own shots by beating guys off the dribble. UW had flashes of effectiveness, but ultimately the reason they lost imo is that Syracuse has better players, & they played suffocating on-ball defense against Bucky.

Well yeah I mean there's a reason they've only lost twice all year.

Why on Earth was Berggren not in the game on the last possession? If he was in instead of Bruiser, he may have had a better chance at that offensive rebound and putback.

Bo said he doesnt like to leave his inbounder with no timeouts left late in the game. Badgers are a bad inbounding team. I can see either call.

just got done watching the game off the DVR, so I haven't read any posts from tonight yet . . . .

who the heck called that play to end the game? Beetle Bailey? I so hate playground ball and 1-on-1 isos which end up 1-on-3 because the defense actually plays college defense instead of the stuff you'd see at Rucker Park.

But, I'm glad they came back and kept it a game. When the 'Cuse dunked late in the 1st half to take the lead and then went on a 10-0 run or whatever, I thought the game was over.

Oh, well. Go get 'em next year, Bucky!

And on another note, I'm sick of seeing that Christian Laettner shot against Kentucky. I'm sorry, but that clock started late - it took more than one second for him to catch the ball, take a step to his right, turn around to his left and get the shot off. Never should have counted.

I believe what he meant was, had the Badgers taken a timeout to draw up a play, they would have been left without a timeout for the ensuing inbound play.

Watching Marquette, I love when refs wait to see a guy miss a shot before calling a foul.

Outmatched athletically but they missed a lot of throws and played pretty poor defense today. Bucky should have won that game.

They ended up with more free throw makes than Cuse. Not to mention they got a three pointer off a rebound on one of Kaminsky's misses so that sort of negates the missed free throw argument.

Why on Earth was Berggren not in the game on the last possession?

He was at the scorers table ready to come in. Badgers had gone small and quick to get the steal before fouling, but the big man never made it back in because he missed the front end of the 1and1.

Right, but the ball went out of bounds so the clock was stopped.

The last minute of the Badgers game was absolutely maddening. First, with the ball, down one with roughly a minute left, why in the world do you not go for the 2 for 1? Then they get bailed out with the missed free throw, and that is the best shot that they can come up with?
