College Basketball 2011-2012

I have to admit, i loved the two step Buzz did at center court after the game. It REALLY pissed off the student section, but who cares, they will just go and burn more couches.

That was so awesome. Those kids looked like they wanted to kill him.

Reading about the Buzz thing before it happened you'd think he pulled a Terrell Owens on the Dallas Cowboys midfield star from a few years ago. He jokingly danced for 2 seconds and those students looked like they were ready to maim him.

It just makes me love him even more to be honest. Totally not looking forward to the day he leaves.

Pretty stupid regardless of what they did. As expected, MU was horrible in the first half without three starters. It also doesn't help that they seemingly are playing against 8 guys out there. Every single 50/50 call....block/charge, out of bounds and a number of very of calls made against MU that weren't made so far against WV. MU has been called for a number or reaches and bodying fouls, and WV is just slapping away. Stunningly, it's only a 7 point game as a type this.

I disagree. My personal guess is that they violated curfew with only 1 day off between games and went out to a party. How would Buzz not sit them? Not only that, it gives them extra motivation in somewhat of a trap game and lets some of the depth get big minutes at a time in the season they are more likely to sit a lot.

And they won.

Buzz is awesome. I'll be far more bummed when he leaves than I was when Crean did.

I don't have a problem with those suspensions when it's not my team, but I wouldn't want Williams to sit Zeller, Henson, Barnes, and Marshall unless they were playing Nicholls State or someone of that ilk.

We could be in for a very exciting last weekend of the regular season. In all likelihood, the UNC-Duke game on March 5 at Wrigley (sorry, Cameron) will decide the ACC regular season title. OSU-MSU on March 4 could very well determine the Big 10 title. For once, my spring break matches up with the conference tourneys, so I'll have a long list of games to watch.

at first I worried because Buzz was just the assistant. I knew I was glad when Crean left, because most of us had become convinced that he could only recruit. His coaching and in-game strategy was piss poor. The original enthusiasm we had because he had such a huge play-book wore off when we realized he loved trusting 1-2 guys on offense to shine while the others stagnated.

Buzz won many of us over after his first few games when he took our athletic team (James, McNeal, Matthews, Hayward, etc) and let them run. MU became explosive like a true Big East or Big 12 team. Wes Matthews went from role player to yet another potent weapon with Buzz's offense.

Crean coached like everything was the Big 10, focusing on defense and quality possessions. Buzz took the governor off and let them play like an elite offense. I'm glad we have Buzz, and I hope Marquette can keep him around. If I were a talented midwest recruit I'd dream of playing for him.

I meant it was pretty stupid of the players to violate whatever rule it was. I'm glad Buzz had the stones to suspend them like that. Not every coach would have.

I agree on the suspensions, but I thought it was somewhat odd that Mayo got to play in the 1st half. Do 2nd half suspensions happen that often? Seemed like he wanted to suspend the players, but didn't want to really be put in a bad spot in regard to winning the game.

I like Buzz, but I'm just curious if the 2nd half suspension thing is all that common.

Who would hurt more to lose - Buzz or Bo (I know chances of Bo leaving a slim...knock on wood)?

They had to do it that way. They only had 9 healthy players going into the game. If they sat all four the first half they would have had only 5 bodies for the first half.

That was one heck of a fun game to watch... Bergerren with a MONSTER three... and Brust seeing less and less playing time.

Berggren, I presume?

Indeed. I wanted to find a picture of him all jacked up like after his go ahead three yesterday, but instead came across that in Google images and thought it was pretty funny.
