Henry Blanco?

I saw on MLBTR that his option was declined. He hit .250/.330/.540 in ~120 PA's last year, and he's still a pretty decent defender as far as I know. Is there any interest among my fellow Brewerfanners about bringing Mr. Blanco back to Milwaukee?

I would take him back for sure. Big defensive upgrade over Kottaras and still has some pop in the bat. Wouldn't be my first choice but I could live with him

I'd rather just go with Maldonado.

Maldonado is supposedly an outstanding defender, and George K is a competent reserve. No interest.

The bigger question is would Wolf want him back there since Kottaras was his "personal catcher."

Roenicke said the personal catcher thing would not continue. Lucroy has all off season to figure out the supposedly "complex" system and not be so slow.

No. NO. NO!!!!

 

Nothing against him personally, but I will never be able to forget the awful trade that saw the Brewers trade my generation's Robin Yount in Jeff Cirillo (in his prime nonetheless) for Blanco, Jimmy Haynes and Jamey Wright. I would never have welcomed any of those guys back to Milwaukee.

 

That trade was the quivalent of the Ray Allen trade to me, which in essence ended my love of the NBA.

Jamey Wright is also available as a situational reliever... I cannot believe that he's still pitching.

Blanco has agreed to terms with the Dbacks on a new deal.
