I am not in the know, but have been thinking about why CC would be leaving New York. Is it possibly because he doesn't like the big-city lights? Would he take less money to play somewhere else? Would he entertain coming back to Milwaukee?

Let's say the Brewers sign him (perhaps a pipe dream). Do they trade away one or two of the starters to get some more defensive help? How about:

Trade away Marcum / Narveson / Wolf (?) for help on the left side of the infield...?

I really don't think he's going to leave New York, and if he did, it will be for more money or years than they are offering.

Just because he's opting out doesn't mean he's leaving. He has 4/92 left I believe left on his contract but he could probably re-up for something like 6/120 and stay with the Yankees. Or he could very well leave and it wouldn't be about the big city lights. Like everything else, it is ultimately about the money. That's why he signed with NY in the first place.
