I will wait to celebrate until Yuni signs with another team or we sign a different SS. I believe the celebration to be a bit premature. We could still sign him at a reduced price.

True.

Now stop raining on the parade, Logan.

Note the clarification in reply #7. It's still possible that the Brewers could get picks for K-Rod; declining the option doesn't exclude that possibility.

One of two things would have to happen for the Brewers to get picks:

  • K-Rod signs with another team before the date for offering arby
  • K-Rod signs with another team after the Brewers offer arby

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Brewers need to forget about yuni if only to improve productivity in Wisconsin, since we could prevent thousands of wasted hours posting on message boards. Myself included.
So it's Yuni's fault we haven't seen a robust economic recovery? I think you might be on to something...

All I'm saying is don't drink the champagne until we know it isn't poisoned.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

The beauty in both these options being declined is that the teams we got these two from are on the hook to pay the buyouts. Most other teams facing these kinds of decisions are considering their own money, not someone else's.

That's almost like having your cake & eating it, too.

True except you did have to hear BA announce-

"Betancourt goes after the first pitch and pops up to...."

Love that line!

We still have Gomez to do that if Yuni's not back. Gomez is good at that, too.
